“Clean, pristine, small but perfect for a short stay. And amazing value.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 28, 2013 via mobile

We stayed here on a 3 night stay in a twin room and, despite an initial grumble about location (it's well situated on the boundary of the city centre but the area it's in isn't lovely to the eye at all), we were very satisfied with our stay. Having stayed in hotels since, this one was sublime in comparison. Beds pristine and so comfortable, room toasty warm, shower a bit small but hot and bathroom all working and immaculate as it should be. The TV was a bit useless - tiny! Bigger TV would be great, and wall mounted. Tea and coffees making facility in the room and this was replaced daily. Beds were made and towels replaced daily where needed but they do encourage you to help save water and re-use them.

There are nearby shops for picking up food and supplies, and it's an easy walk into Reykjavik centre for restaurants, bars, museums, the concert hall, shops, etc.

Staff on the desk were friendly and efficient, and picks ups and taxis were very well organised via main reception. Exceptionally well organised tours thanks to Iceland Excursions Gray Line Tours who will usually pick up and drop off at your hotel door!

I've since looked at going back to Reykjavik and, knowing the standard of the rooms at Hotel Bjork, I am impressed at the pricing compared to all the others nearby, and would definitely stay here again for the excellent value for money and good standard. Recommended.

A pleasant hotel slightly off the beaten track. About a 20minutes walk from the main shopping street.

We booked rooms that offered breakfast and felt the buffet breakfast was pretty good and worth the price we paid. We especially loved the honey and hot chocolate drinks.
We felt the hotel was clean and decent for the price we paid. Free wifi was offered and we had no problems with it.

There was also a pleasant american restaurant facing the hotel that serves pretty decent food! There are few eateries around the area except that place , so the restaurant was god sent.

This hotel is at the end of the main street in a very quiet area,it is very clean and comfortable with a great restaurant, the staff are great but there is just one problem,a big problem for some, the curtains let in light,if you are a light sleeper and need the dark, you had better bring an eye mask,no idea why the curtains are so light.

My family and I have just returned from a four night stay at this hotel and couldn't really fault it. The staff are very friendly and helpful, the rooms are clean and of a fair size and the Hotel itself is in a very quiet location. It is a little walk from the Hotel to the town center however nowhere is very far and pretty much everywhere in Reykjavik is within walking distance. The hotel has an excellent restaurant which serves buffet breakfasts and good value evening meals.
If booking an airport transfer make it clear to the driver that you wish to be taken the hotel BJORK and not the Hotel BORG. The two words when used by the Icelandic's sound very similar and this almost resulted in us being taken to the wrong hotel. This was no fault of the hotel as the transfers are operated by an independent company.
I would certainly recommend Hotel Bjork to anybody and would definitely stay there again myself.

Clean rooms, nice bathroom, great breakfast (European). Ingvar at the desk was extremely helpful. Hotel is 10 minutes from main shopping area, 20 minutes to old harbor. Great parking, if you have a car. Would recommend highly.

No frills, no glitz, but situated just a mile or two off the main downtown in a quiet area with small, clean rooms. I don't think they have a shuttle to downtown so if you're not planning on renting a car this may be a little out of the way. Very friendly and helpful staff. Rooms are quite small (double room could barely fit two suitcases) but clean and comfortable. Free wifi is a plus. Breakfast was traditional, nothing special. Would definitely recommend if you're OK foregoing luxuries like a large room and a view for cost.

Very clean room and helpful and courteous staff! But let's be clear, this is just a room to sleep in, nothing fancy. The shower was basically the size of a small closest so my 6'2 boyfriend had a very hard taking a shower; once in there was no moving about at all.

Still a reasonably priced hotel about a 20 minute walk to downtown and some brilliant views along the way!
