“enjoyed the klopp”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 1, 2007

This hotel was a great hotel, good value for money and in an excellent location. It was lean and the staff were very friendly. We hd a nice room with black out blinds which enabled us to have a good nights sleep. The buses to the Reykjavik excursions pick up and drop off here too, so you dont need to worrry about finding the bus station, as does the airport transfer which seems to be ion correspondence with flight times.

Breakfast was very good, plenty of choice and you could eat as much or as little as you liked.
definately go to the blue lagoon, and as odd as it may sound, go when the weather is not at its best, it makes it all the more enjoyable!

If I go bck to Reykjavik, i would definately stay here again!

Right in the centre of Reykjavik, close to really nice restaurants and bars. Hotel was modern, spotless and very good value for money. Rooms a bit small but perfectly adequate for a short stay, with all the amenities you'd expect. Staff were vey helpful and friendly, would definately recommend this!

Had a really enjoyable stay at the Klopp (pronounced Klupp, by the way) The hotel was one street away from the main shopping street, and airport transfers are easy because it seems most of the hotels have an arrangement with the main company that does the transfers, Reykjavik excursions so that drop-off by minibus at the hotel is included.

The bed was very comfortable, our room was pretty sizable and the bathroom was very nice. There was a fridge, TV etc. No problems with the room at all. Staff were helpful and friendly, breakfeast was a nice selection of different bits and bobs (typical scandinavian-type buffet) Including Skyr, the local yoghurt which was nice! There were some excellent blackout blinds that helped us have a really good nights sleep as well.

Everywhere is fairly pricey in Reykjavik, but we got a 4 nights for a price of 3 offer that made it cheaper that the youth hostel by the time you've factored in bedding and membership fees etc.

In summary: When I come back to Reykjavik, I certainly won't look any further than the Klopp.

I stayed at the CenterHotel Klopp for two nights - 04 Jan - 06 Jan 2007. It's a small hotel, one block off the main shopping street. This was a very clean, very well-maintained, newly redone property. The daily breakfast was great - everything from cereal and toasts to liver pate, pickles and pickled beets! Mmmmm.

One night partiers in the street woke me about 4am, but other than that, it was a nice place hotel. I recommend it for anyone.

Mini buses do pick ups from most of the main hotels, including Klopp, so it was really easy to get to from the airport and to join excursions etc. The hotel is just by the shopping streets so it's very convinient - there's an information office nearby with internet facilities which was handy.

The rooms are cosy with tea/coffee, TV etc. Friendly helpful staff. Nice breakfast buffet available. Couldn't fault it.

This is a fantastic hotel. I stayed here with a friend during the Airwaves festival and the location can NOT be beat. There's a great CD/vintage store directly across the street, cafe's, restaurants, you name it.

We arrived at 8am, our check-in wasn't until 2pm but they tried to get our room ready early. We sat down and enjoyed the nice breakfast buffet. Cereal, eggs, meat, cheese, toast, all the basics. Serve yourself, all you can eat.

There is one computer for internet access located in the lobby. You must stand while using it.

Our room was pretty small, but nice and clean. Bathrooms were spacious, nice showers and whatnot.

The staff was also very nice and accommodating.

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE.

Have just returned from the CentreHotel Klopp and find it hard to make any negative comments about the hotel.
The staff are very friendly, and as in the whole of Iceland speak excellent English.
Maybe the rooms are a bit on the small side, but on a city break you don't stay in them long enough for this to be a problem.
We had a room on the 4th floor with sea/mountain views, it was clean and in very good condition.
The shower was more like a 'wet room', spotlessly clean with plenty of hot (if a little smelly) water!
It's position is so central it's easy to reach all the major tourist sites, shops & bars.
The breakfast offered is adequate, with a good range of cold meats, eggs & bread, but beware of the coffee machine, as it's east to get an overflowing cup!
You may find that you hear some noise/music in the early hours, but don't let this put you off booking.
Just one word of warning.....Iceland isn't cheap....so be prepared to spend!!!
