“Wow”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 9, 2013 via mobile

My husband took me here for a birthday treat so I cannot give you the exact price. ...but I know it's overwhelmingly expensive.
We had the tastes menu with wine. The food just kept coming and it was tasty, fresh, well presented and perfectly cooked. We had the like of braised whale and puffin burgers, buttery beef and salmon, dry fish and lamb t bone....and so on! The dessert almost made me cry....best chocolate mousse witb raspberry sauce ever. We tried 5 different wines all kindly explained. The service wad attentive and friendly.
The place is a bit dark but I guess it's part of the atmosphere. I loved the lava stone lamps...
I shall go instantly back as soon as I goto rReykjavik again.
Thanks so much

“Incredible!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 8, 2013

If you want the best of Icelandic food, this is the place. Try the tasting menu with four appetizers (best was the duck salad), three entrees (loved the grilled salmon) and a desert plate with many desserts (I didn't count them). Everything was made with fresh local ingredients. We received attentive service from the friendly staff. Like all good restaurants in Reykjavik, this one is expensive, but worth it.

“Excellent restaurant with excellent food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 7, 2013

The restaurant design was wonderfully though out, it's in the centre of town. The food was delicious, organic, locally sourced icelandic food, it was only the price which stopped me from giving it a 5, but that's Reykjavik for you!

“fantastic experience!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 5, 2013

i saw a photo of my friend's dinner on instagram and was curious where i can get a steak on a volcano rock. Grillmarkadurinn. Once u'r there, it's like a completely different world within Reykjavik, u'll admire the interior (even the rest rooms!) while waiting for a great icelandic meal, the staff will be very nice and you will want to come back as soon as possible :) remember to book in advance, and buy some volcano salt in the airport!

“Good food, extremely slow service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 4, 2013

We bought the "little-bit-of-everything" choice in the menu, this included 4 starters, 3 main courses and 4 desserts. After 2 hours and 15 minutes we had come to the first main course. In total it took about 3,5 hours to get everything served. Fortunately, we were on holiday and wasn't in a hurry. All the food and wine was fantastic, this is the reason for giving 4 out of 5 "points".
