“Excellent choice!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 28, 2014

Travelled from Toronto by Icelandair for a 4 day mini vacation. Had wonderful weather. Flights worked out great and was able to hit the ground running. Hotel was clean and very friendly with knowledgable staff. Rooms were great everything we needed. Put the package together using Icelanair web site. Added a jeep safari tour which was excellent value " essential Iceland package".
No regrets would book the same way again.
Thanks to Icelandair and staff at the Natura as well as Christian our Landrover guide and driver.
Take advantage of the free bus pass the hotel offers. It is super easy to use and takes 5 min to get to the main shopping street.

Despite being next to a regional airport, this hotel was quite and comfortable. Very clean, tidy and well maintained. The staff was very helpful in answering any questions. The restaurant was excellent. The breakfast had a wide variety of choices and dinner was very tasty. It is a 20 minute walk to almost anything, but a bus pass and stop is easily accessable.

Room Tip: Try to get a room looking at the city, the airport rooms don't have a very interesting view.

This is the hotel Iceland Air put us as part of our tour package. The hotel is clean and modern with a vary helpful, accommodating staff. The rooms are small but contain everything you need including comfortable beds and warm duvets. The hotel is at the Reykjavik airport but is not noisy as only domestic flights operate during the day. The hotel is a little away from downtown but they have free bus passes for the asking and the nearest stop is near the front of the hotel. If you are staying in Reykjavik use the bus system and forget renting a car. The restaurant on site serves very good food but the price is high (2500 ISK for breakfast) so you might be better off jumping a bus and heading downtown.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the airport side are sunnier and you get good sunset views.

Dear traveler

Thank you for your recent review of our hotel, Reykjavik Natura.

I am glad to see that you found Reykjavik Natura to have everything you needed while on your vacation. You are absolutely correct about the bus system; it is quite convenient and not necessary to rent a car as long as you are only going to explore the city itself. If you will stay with us again I would like to recommend you to try our tranquil Sóley Natura Spa and if you book through our website you get a complimentary access to the spa.
We hope to see you again soon.

Warm regards,
Trausti Karlsson

A great hotel: well maintained, pleasant staff, great amenities -- very happy to have stayed here. The hotel is a short bus ride from downtown (and a pass is provided by the hotel), if you feel energetic it's a 35-minute walk. The hotel is next to the local airport, but that didn't prove to be a problem, no overnight takeoffs/landings.

Restaurant on the premises serves great food, at typically high Icelandic prices. We had an Easter brunch that was amazing. Incredible variety of good food.

The hotel stay was part of a package, which included airfare. All in all, good value for the money spent.

This hotel looks suspiciously poor from the outside bit the inner refurb has been done well. The standard rooms are very comfortable although I'm not a fan of 2 single duvets on the double bed however my other half found this to be a treat as there were no duvet wars in the middle of the night.... It's all personal preference! Bathroom is small but perfectly functional although only a shower in the standard rooms.

Check in and out were smooth with no issues (if you're in the early morning flight home I would recommend checking out the night before.

The hotel is a 5 minute walk from BSI bus station where many excursions depart fro which is very convenient. It is about 20 minute walk into centre if Reykjavik. It is 5 minute walk to the Perlan.

The restaurant is ok but I would recommend going into town for food or 10 mins walk to Roadhouse. Although the breakfast/brunch looked fabulous and we wished we had eaten there at least one morning.

Hotel guests can get a free city bus pass (you need to pay deposit) which allows up to 4 people to travel around the city for free on the buses, this was really helpful.

The hotel spa is beautiful BUT unless you book direct with the hotel website or upgrade your room then you will need to pay to use it and it's not cheap especially when you pay per entry not per day... So if you want to go for a swim and a sauna then head out for lunch and come back for a swim later you'll need to pay twice - not great. Having said that, it was very quiet and a real pleasure to have the place practically to ourselves.

The gift shop also hosts a tourist desk where you can book excursions and get advice - very helpful and would recommend using them.

Overall it was a lovely hotel and good value for money.

Dear traveler
Thank you for your recent review of our hotel, Reykjavik Natura.

I am glad to see that your other half enjoyed the 2 single duvets, as you say, it´s all about personal preference. I would like to inform you regarding the shower that if you stay in a deluxe room you get a much bigger bathroom which also includes a bathtub. And as you stated in your review, you will also get a free access to the spa and a free access to the lounge as long as you stay in an upgraded room.

You definitely have to come back to try out our breakfast buffet and if you stay over the weekend I recommend you to upgrade your breakfast to the brunch buffet.

Overall I would like to thank you for your positive review and we hope to see you again soon.

Warm regards,
Trausti Karlsson

We just came back from staying at Natura for three nights. The hotel is located right on the Reykjavik Airport with IcelandAir's headquarters located next door to the hotel and planes parked outside. The hotel is also right across from the Pearl so it is a quick walk to the Reykjavik landmark. It is not located near the center of Reykjavik so you will have to either take the bus or drive to get into town. We rented a car while we were in Iceland, and we did not have any trouble finding parking at the hotel.
The staff was friendly and helpful, and they were very accommodating with early check-in since our flight from North America arrived early in the morning. (Just a note: because the hotel is connected to IcelandAir's travel packages, the reception desk gets super busy early in the morning because of the flight schedule). The rooms were clean and the mattresses were comfortable. The bathroom in the room was a little tight, but functional.
We got a complimentary breakfast with our room, and the breakfast was pretty good. There was a wide range of food at the self-service breakfast. On our first night at the hotel, we tried the hotel restaurant, Satt. It is the same restaurant that hosts the breakfast in the morning; however, dinner service at the restaurant was not as good as breakfast. The service was slow, and they were not very friendly or helpful. The food was okay, but there were limited options. I would recommend eating the breakfast at the hotel (especially if it is included with the room), but would recommend skipping the restaurant in the evening.

Room Tip: If you select a room with a "double bed", it is literally two twin beds pushed together an...

Stayed here for 3 night short break to Iceland. Staff excellent, helpful and cheerful - particular mention to the waitress whose name escapes me - blond hair and glasses. Terrific sense of humour and friendly, she gave us a good insight into life in Iceland. The food here is good; I can't understand why so many people review food here and elsewhere in the country complaining that it is expensive.... Iceland IS expensive so what's the surprise? That said, I found that the gorgeous lamb fillet dish which I had to be well worth the £18.00 odd it cost, it would cost the same in a restaurant or decent pub in the UK and no, I don't live in London. In fact, food was so good we ate in the hotel more than we intended to! Free bus passes welcome, though we didn't use as we were booked up all the time that we were in the country, next time however...
The hotel has its own bakery and oh boy, what a bakery - the variety of breads on offer was extensive and each one delicious, as were the cakes on display (didn't sample them all however). Wine and alcohol generally is very expensive all over Iceland, though most places do a happy (2) hour(s) during which it comes down to more or less UK prices. We cheated and took a couple of bottles of wine with us - rooms have fridges (and irons/ironing boards .... huh? I'm on holiday!).
Rooms clean and comfortable - views either towards mountains or sea, either way good. Well thought out decor, useful travel desk and dedicated Icelandair check in computer.
All in all, short break just left me wanting more time, so I will be back to Iceland and particularly, to the Natura.
