“Impressed with this hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 11, 2013

I booked this room as part of a deal on the iceland air website. I was worried about the location and about the noise reading other updates from people, but was pleasantly surprised. I had no delays checking in. The hotel is in a great location, and is an easy walk into the city. I am fairly fit and it took about 15 mins to walk to the downtown area of shops. I also faced the small airport and didn't think the noise was bad at all (I do live in a city at home though). The breakfast buffett was included in my room and it was wonderful. Much better then I would have expected, with lots of fruits, breads, and cheeses and meat items. I was also very impressed that most items were available starting at 4am for those of us on early excursion trips to other parts of the country. Coffee was great, and available in the room. There was also a mini-fridge in each room. I would recommend this hotel to everyone.

Would highly recommend this hotel. We had lovely large, quiet room. All staff, whether on reception, in spa or restaurant, were so friendly and helpful. Fabulous spa area, perfect for relaxation. Travel desk really useful to for queries and booking trips.

Just wrapping up an overnight stay here; Natura has been lovely, with friendly, helpful staff, and an absolutely delicious restaurant. Love the clean, crisp design of the lobby and rooms. The spa downstairs looks great too, although our stay here was not long enough for us for us to really use it.
Our room is somewhat snug, not as bad as London hotels, but tighter than most US rooms; it is very nicely laid out, though, with plenty of room for both of us to work and move around, so it's more a matter of perception than function.
We emailed ahead to request early check-in; no rooms in our class were actually available yet at the time we arrived, but we were able to upgrade for a reasonable fee, which included spa access, plus free wi-fi (apparently wi-fi is charged PER DEVICE, so this was a great savings for us), so it worked out well for us.
We had breakfast at the hotel this morning...a very nice buffet, although the trays of cheeses and smoked salmon were not refilled when they ran out, but everything was very good quality and tasted great (and I am quite fussy about food quality!)...the dishes of skyr are particularly yummy.
Dinner last night was also at the restaurant...WOW! Very delicious, and beautifully presented! We just wanted a light meal, so my husband ordered the lamb soup (which did not last long enough for me to even get a taste!), and I had the warm smoked salmon with poached egg and hollandaise...absolutely incredibly delicious, and I don't think I have ever seen such a perfect poached egg served at a restaurant. We finished up with a yummy Icelandic cheese platter (I am going to have to go to the food market when we return to Reykjavik and find these cheeses...really tasty!). Service was marvelous, and the maitre d' was even kind enough to write out the recipe for lamb stew :-)
All-in-all a wonderful stay, and we shall definitely stay here the next time we visit Reykjavik.

Room Tip: Rooms on the east side are sunny in the morning, but do heat up a lot in the sun!

Just back from a 5 night stay at this hotel, which was excellent. The beds were very comfortable and cosy. We were in a room facing the domestic airport but never heard any noise, good views out over the sea. Bathroom was fine, plenty of room and loads of hot water in the shower, shower gel provided. Travelled with Icelandair and breakfast was not included so just booked it on arrival, it was quite expensive by our standard but well worth it, sausage, scrambled egg, beans and fried potatoes on the hot buffet, cold buffet had, lots of cold meats, cheese, porridge with loads to add to it fruit, nuts, and jams. About 8 different cereals with milk or yogurt. Freshly made pancakes, fresh fruit, nice bread choice with toaster. We had a vegan in our group and there was plenty for them to have. Try the Skyr with blue berries, it is lovely and creamy.

Hotel is a bit out of town but you can get a free bus pass for 4 people from reception, you leave a 1500K deposit which is returned when you hand back the card at the end of your stay. The bus stop it right across the road from hotel and runs every 30 mins get off at the bus terminal and you are just a short walk from the main street. Only word of warning when you get the bus back to the hotel go to the bus stop at the side of terminal, we got back on where we had got off and went on an hour journey round all the housing estates before returning to the bus terminal and then from there only 10 mins from ther back to hotel.

Went on tours with Reykjavick Excurssions, they pick you up and return you to your hotel, went to Blue Lagoon, Geysir and Gullfoss waterfall, and Northern Lights but we were unlucky it was too cloudy so didn't see anything but they take you back out to try again another night. Whales watching with Elding again did not see anything and got complimentary ticket to go back out again, some of our group went out the next day and saw lots of whales and porpoise.

This a great hotel for a visit to Iceland, the pool area was great and the hot tub very nice at 41 degrees, would stay at this hotel again.

My husband and I traveled to Iceland February 25-March 3 on the Travelzoo Northern Lights Tour excursion. We stayed at the Hotel Reykjavik Natura and thoroughly enjoyed our time there! The rooms were nice, clean and very comfortable. We were not pressured to upgrade, but upgrade offers were clear and on a big laminated sheet at the desk. The spa at Hotel Natura was wonderful!! I would hightl recommend choosing a package that includes spa admission or at least spending one day there. The Solay Organics products used at the spa smell amazing (I did buy some to bring home!) and the whole experience was very relaxing.
The hotel was very close to downtown and having the free bus pass was a huge help. We even used the bus pass to take a further adventure to find the AlaFoss Wool Outlet store to souvenir shop. I would definitely stay here again.
To anyone looking at Travelzoo excursions, they deliver exactly what they promise and you will not be disappointed!

Seated on the runway next to the city's regional airport, the hotel is quietier than one may think. As most flights during our stay seemed to use the airport late in the morning, the hours of pre-flight run-ups did not disturb our sleep.
On the other hand, the decor could be considerably warmer in this cold environment. The rooms, though comfortable, lacked any charm. The busy lobby was decorated is what could be described as "Minimalist.' Two computers connected to the internet are situated by the front door. Both have stools uncomfortable enough to make your browsing sessions short enough to allow other guests access to the limited resource. Other furnature in the lobby is not warm enough to invite anything but a stop until your ride arrives.
The spa is very nice but is not free to most guests. Beware of this hidden charge.

My husband and I did the northern lights tour with 1 initial night here, 2 in Akureyri, and then we added a couple nights on the end for 3 more nights here. We loved the hotel :) If you're a runner or hiker, there are fantastic running trails right across the street, along with the "Perla," a building with a lovely observation deck, museum, and a fantastic restaurant (so we heard). A quick 15-20 minute walk to town, or it's free to ride the bus (ticket from the desk), which comes 2x/hr.

This is the only hotel with an indoor pool in Reykjavik, and it is fabulous. Nothing better after a cold day of sightseeing than to come back and dip into the heated hot tub, pool, sauna, or steam room. The breakfast buffet (included) was really great, and included a wide variety of items, and the restaurant was also good (we ate here a couple nights). There was even a small gym, and a yoga room, much to our surprise, as it was not mentioned on the website.

Rooms were maybe a little small, but really all you need. The hotel staff were all accommodating and spoke amazing English. 2 thumbs up!

Room Tip: Be careful with the doors, they don't always like to latch, and the rooms facing the airfield se...
