Recommend the www.laugarnudd.is best massage in town at a good price. Situated next to the brand new sea jacuzzi.

“Incredible value, fun for all ages”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 11, 2013

This pool has several hot tubs of varying temperatures and jet options, and one large tub with natural boulders. There are two lap pools (one is indoor and cooler) and a few leisurely, shallow pools for children and families. The water slide is a great touch. One of the hot tubs is a mineral soak in which they pipe in sea water. There's also a space-age steam room (go in, you'll see what I mean).

The locker rooms are impeccably clean and have have free (included) high tech locking systems and all the amenities you need (including a suit spinner, which is absent at the Blue Lagoon... crazy!).

This is not intended to be a spa experience, but I found it wonderful and relaxing and it was a great place to spend several hours on a sunny afternoon alone or with friends. The locals were very friendly and helpful (one offered to let me use goggles so I could swim laps).

Things to know... the locker rooms have rigid rules about shoes (off before you go in), how you shower before getting into the pool (nude and supervised!), and where you need to dry off (before going back to the locker room). The rules are good and make the pools able to maintain without chemicals. Also, all of my swimming and bathing experiences in Iceland had life guards that looked more like security guards. They are actually kind and helpful, don't be fooled by their uniform.

“A unique and local Icelandic experience.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 8, 2013 via mobile

The Iclandic people love their booze, but they also thoroughly enjoy congregating in large bodies of hot water. Whether its the Blue lagoon or this huge city center heated pool and hot tubs, its a truly unique and must do experience if you want the authentic Iceland visit. Highly recommend doing it.

This pool is worth a specal trip to and when in Iceland make several visits. I enjoyed it the last time as much as all other times when I have visited Reykajvik. Clean and nice

“Best deal in Reykjavik”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 4, 2013

Since I'm here for awhile, I decided to splurge on a pass, 10 or 20 visits, averaging less than $4 per visit. This is a no-frills thermal pool(s) very near the city center, and easily accessible by bus. US families might want to be advised that the European "dress" code is very lax, and that showers, sans swimsuits, are required, under the watchful eye of the helpful attendant! That being said, you have your choice of at least 6 smallish spa pools, ranging in temp from 38'-44'C, and a salt water pool. There is a well heated lap pool, but not too hot, and a warmer pool with play structures for kids, and a lagoon type hot tub of 38'C for families. In addition there is a steam room, quite hot and comforting. I did have a little trouble figuring out the locker, but the attendant was kind enough to show me - no key, some kind of magnet in the wrist band! This is a daily ritual for most Icelanders, so try to plan your visit in the mid morning or afternoon, as family times are high priority evenings and weekends!
