“Great hotel with wonderful staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2013

Location: Perfect. Short walking distance from everything we wanted to see in Reykjavik and great road access for our longer excursions.

Hotel facilities: Everything we were looking for. Clean, comfortable and simple. The breakfast was great. The only downside was, that at the time, there was no free wifi in the rooms (although perhaps this has changed since our visit). There was however a communal computer to use.

Staff: This was definitely the highlight of our stay here. We arrived in the middle of a snow storm and the next morning the staff couldn't help enough with providing equipment to dig our car out and locals helped us quite a lot. Estanis was great in giving us plenty of advice on where to visit and his tips really transformed our trip.

I spent 2 nights in Fosshotel Lind on my travel to Iceland. The hotel has a good locaton just by the the main shopping street but still in a very quiet and nice area. The room that I was in on the 3rd floor had been newly renovated. It was very clean and nicely decorated with a beautiful view to the church, Hallgrimskirkja. I love good breakfast and the breakfast in Lind is great with good vairitys of both cold and hot options.
We tryed the inhouse restaurant were we had excellent service and food. I would highly recommand the cod fillet.
The best thing about this hotel is the very friendly employee´s who give you a great service and tips about Iceland.
I would recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view to the church

We booked Fosshotel Lind for our Reykjavik stay because that was practically the only affordable option with a private bathroom. The hotel has a great location at a quiet side street yet 2 minutes from the main street, and the tiniest room i ever stayed at....tinier was only the bathroom. Nevertheless...this somehow didnt count. We already had a great experience with the hotel staff through emails even if we arrived, and our first impression was, arriving at 3 a.m. a great style from Unnur, the nght receptionist, The other members of the staff wer similarly fiendly. Breakfast was not very varied...especially after trying 4 other Fosshotels around the island...it was about the same everywhere, Fosshotel advertises itself as focusing on a friendly athmosphere....and it does exactly that.

Great value for money, that was my feeling after staying a weekend there with my partner. After a friendly and fast check in, our room was 108 with a very nice view to the cathedral. The bed was very comfortable, but the room was not to big (but this is not the important, you don't go to anothe rcity to stay in the room). The restuarant by the lobby was good and the waiter Marcin was very friendly. We got a delicious traditional soup. The breakfats was good, with plenty of selection, hot and cold. Teh receptionist were very helpful and with great ideas about what to do. We got encourgare to do the golden circle and it was wonderful, a must to do in Iceland. We got the recomendation to try the local swimming pool not far from the hotel and it was greta as well. Such a relaxing way to enjoy the city!. Thank you for the good service, will be back to Fosshotel Lind if we came back to Iceland.

I spent 2 nights in the Fosshotel after my trip in Iceland. This hotel is very well situated, close to the city center and the main street. It’s also a nice and quiet area. The personal at the reception were very helpful and the information I got from them help me to enjoy the city in the couple of days I had. Rooms are luminous and clean, not too big, but big enough to feel comfortable. I love breakfast, and breakfast was great in the there. Thanks a lot for your attention.

This Fosshotel is in a great location with an easy walk to downtown and the harbor. We stayed there our first night in Reykjavik and then again our last night in Iceland before heading home to the U.S. Both rooms were very clean and sparse. Our first room faced the front street so there was no real view, but for our last night we had a room on the back side of the hotel and had a beautiful view of the cathedral. By U.S. standards these rooms were very small, but that is how all the rooms we stayed in in Iceland were. The beds were comfortable with good pillows and linens. The hotel offers free WiFi, but the signal was somewhat weak. I had trouble getting on the first day before 6:00 am and then it was fine. Breakfast was included in the rate. It included just about everything and the food was good.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the back side of the hotel to have a nice view of the cathedral.

We really loved the Lind which seems to have been recently updated. Our room was not large, but it was well laid out and comfortable. It is off of the main tourist area which means it is quiet and yet easy to get to all of the nearby attractions. The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful, they helped us book a tour to the glaciers and waterfalls on the south-east coast, in addition they helped to locate our lost baggage while we spent a lovely afternoon touring Reykjavik.
