Let's face it, eating out is expensive in Reykjavik. Sometimes you have to search for something that sounds good and just go for it. Listed in a guidebook as "budget" recommended, we entered this very small cafe-type restaurant with bar on the side. We could have ordered smoked puffin or whalemeat as both were on the menu, but none in our family were that adventurous. We all ordered burgers and were not disappointed. My 20 year old son exclaimed his burger was the best he had ever had and the rest of us were pretty much in agreement. Yes, we were hungry and had not eaten a hamburger in three weeks which is unusual for our family. We each had a huge burger with various toppings, a generous portion of fries. Our bill for just the four plates was the equivalent of $77, which is a whopping amount back home. However, after living on airport snacks and airplane food, we wanted something a bit more satisfying. This place is great!
