“impressively designed and quite elegantly appointed”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 30, 2009

Borg is an exclusive hotel, impressively designed and quite elegantly appointed. We felt very comfortable staying there, pampered and secured. Indeed it is not cheap but worth every penny really. Back then we booked it in Easy Click web site for a relatively a good price.

If you are looking for a hotel that ticks all the right boxes then look no further! The breakfast is excellent, the dinner in the in-house Silfur restaurant is out of this world. The rooms are spacious, plush and stylish. ...and the bed is so good you almost forget you've left your girlfriend at home :-)

I can easily say that Hotel Borg is not only the best hotel in Reykjavik, but it is also the best hotel I have ever stayed in.

Really liked this hotel. Staff friendly and helpful (not as efficient as a 5 star hotel - but can't really fault them). Really pretty art deco hotel completely decked out with new finishings. Bathroom is great with a huge tub and massive rain shower head. Location is central but also quiet. Rooms have character, are clean and modern. Free internet in room (although not wifi folks). Business center allows free printing too. Great!

4 nights spent before and after a glacier expedition. Excllent restaurant downstairs, scandinavian style rooms and nice personnel.

Recently stayed here on a work trip and love the hotel. It's smack bang in the city centre with a number of restaurants right outside the hotel and within walking distance to the main street. The hotel apparently has been recently renovated and is styled in a cool Art Deco theme, but subtle, not over the top. Rooms are comfy with cable TV, minibar, proper hairdryer (thanks!!) and trouser press--iron/ironing board would be better. Rooms have broadband, not WiFi. Great restaurant is attached. Maybe only negative would be the cost of breakfast for what you get. Though, overall would highly recommend hotel!

The quality of the hotel is fantastic, and the location is second to none. Our room was two floors above a bar, and on a Friday and Saturday night, Icelanders party hard 'til 3 to 4 am. We stayed Friday, Saturday, Sunday and "enjoyed" the sound of the Euro hardcore beat into the early hours on the first two nights.
I'd recommend ear plugs, or try to get a room elsewhere in the hotel if this is going to bother you. On a week night, and Sundays I don't think it would be a problem.

We had a lovely time in this hotel for 3 nights - i think we had the best room in the house - it had an upstairs like a look out tower over the square where the Parliament is - which made it very noisy on Fri and Sat night as the bars stay open until 6am - but once Sunday came people seemed to vanish from Reykjavik!!! Very eery!!! Strange city and strange people VERY EXPENSIVE as a city and everything about it !!!!! Hotels, restaurants and guided tours are crazy!!!! Our tour guides tried to rip us off by €2000 - so don't use Luxury Adventures!!! They claim to have given tours to many celebrities but thats because they are the only people who can afford them!!!! Price around for everything!!!! The food was truly amazing in the fish market and the restaurant below the tourist office - unbelievable fish and seafood - the whale wasn't for me though!!!
