“March Vacation with Three Girls”

I loved this hotel. I stayed here with two of my friends. We reserved one room and paid extra to have a cot brought in. There was plenty of room for all three of us and our luggage. The breakfast was buffet style - they had breads, jams, eggs, bacon, sausage, cheese, tomatoes and some other stuff. Also the Micro Bar is attached to the hotel - it was awesome, they have a ton of Icelandic beers, and you can do flights so you try all the different ones, we went to this bar several times for the happy hour before going out. This hotel was in walking distance to everything we wanted to do. The shops and bars were about a 5 minute walk. Plenty of great restaurants around to eat. The staff was very helpful, and accommodating in getting us checked in early. The staff was also very informative on restaurant recommendations, places to see, etc. Also, the staff will book your excursions for you, if you find one you want to do while there, you just let the front office know and they will handle it. I will definitely stay at this hotel again. If you are looking for a budget friendly hotel, in walking distance to shops, restaurants and attractions than this is your place.

A change of flight times less than 24 hours before leaving left me with a dilemma, ' How can I get to Glasgow airport for 9.45 am, impossible my original flight was 14.05. Without a last minute offer by a friend I would have had to cancel everything.
The City Centre Hotel was excellent, they were all so caring and helpful. Also it was so convenient, central for everything and just round the corner to the hostel which my masters student, Grandson, stays. I had a perfect bed in nice cosy room on the fourth floor.
Being disabled, the wheelchair assistance was perfect at Glasgow and Reykjavik. with perfect help on shuttle busses both too and from the hotel. Sadly the times of flight home were changed at the last minute by 3 hours, so Iceland Air let themselves down badly.

We spent two nights here and maybe got a total of 6 hours of sleep. The hotel itself is fine - small European rooms with a small fridge, a hot water heater for coffee and tea, and a nice big shower - but if you can't get a night's sleep, what's the point. It is surrounded by bars including one that advertises it plays live music 7 days a week. We were here over a weekend and the music and street party outside our room went on each night/morning until 5 am.

This hotel is in a great location beside the shopping street and plenty of great restaurants. The front desk staff are friendly and very helpful. The room is clean and simple. The bed was a little on the soft side. The breakfast is very reasonable and had a great selection.

The hotel is right in the centre of town. Location perfect for shops, bars, restaurants and night life. The locals party on Friday and Saturday nights until 6 in the morning. No chance of a good nights sleep.
Our hotel room was spacious, unlike some others. Bathroom clean. Beds soft.
Hotel staff very helpful and courteous. They booked our trips out for us without problem.
Breakfast was basic and had to wait for it to be replenished. The breakfast room doubles as a bar during the evening and night.
Don't buy bottled water from the hotel, there is a supermarket next door at half the price.
Many bars in the area.'Happy Hour' if you look for it, can be from 3.00pm until 1.00am. But be careful. Some bars offer half price on all drinks, others only reduce the price of certain beers.. Ask before you buy

Room Tip: Rooms on the back are more spacious. we had room 404

Super location but 'you get what you pay for'!
Fairly basic ambience, helpful reception staff (particularly the female receptionist - very knowledgeable, and the overnight guy) and coffee all day facility is a real bonus. Breakfast super if you arrive at opening time- later can be slow to replenish.
One downside is the size of some of the double rooms - difficult to get past bed because of other furniture .
Also smaller double rooms lack the chairs which feature on the website, incl booking.com
If it's a fairly basic hotel you are after in a central location....fine.

The room was fine and not as noisy as expected since we noticed that it was right above a bar. Modern fixtures in room, nice bathroom. We slept pretty well there. They did provide a breakfast for a nominal fee downstairs. The front desk staff was helpful except for putting us on the wrong bus line to shuttle back to the airport. A kind Gray line bus driver averted a problem and took us anyway. The area around the hotel is full of good places to eat, all kinds.

Room Tip: Go above the 2nd floor to get a quieter room - try the 4th.
