“nice central coffee shop close to tourist office”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 26, 2013

On our first day in town, we walked down from the main bus station and then spent 20 mins in the tourist office collecting information and booking a few trips. After which we were in need of a nice coffee somewhere close by. We asked the girl behind the counter in the tourist office if she could recommend anywhere and she suggested this place. Good choice - great coffee, great cake and a very chilled, cosy atmosphere. We thought the prices were reasonable too. (We'd heard lots of scare stories about the cost of eating out, but we didn't think prices were too bad at all anywhere we ate on our 4 day stay).
A nice start to a great trip.

“Friendly and comfortable”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 19, 2013

This cafe is centrally located, it serves lovely coffee with a refill in the price. The furnishings are eclectic, just like being in your granny's front room. It has a very welcoming and friendly atmosphere to it. All it needs is a roaring fire and you wouldn't want to leave.

“Perfect Spot”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 17, 2013

Came here two nights and loved it. Try the stout, it was tasty. Bartenders were sweet (if you beat them at a game of chess, you get a free beer or something). Met some interesting Icelanders and foreigners. There were two young women next to us knitting and drinking coffee, a few people on laptops, people playing board games, others drinking with their friends...you get the picture. Relaxing, and wish we still had more places like this at home. I could see it would be more awesome on a snowy, cold night. It almost feels like a place in Maine, at least in my romantic fantasy, LOL!

“Great, relaxed atmosphere”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 8, 2013

Loved this little cafe / bar. We visited twice, once during the day for coffee & doughnut and once in the evening for a cocktail. Relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff, board games available.
