“OH RATS !!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 4, 2013

You might find C is for Cookie is more than sweet! They also have the best expresso in town! However, be prepared to find a passel of rodents in the bathroom. NO WORRIES! They are plush, cozy critters stacked on top of each other to guard the window. We liked this locall venue so much that we visited it more than once.

“Lovely little cafe tucked away”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 2, 2013

This cafe is a laid back place to grab a lighter meal away from the main city shopping streets. The staff were really friendly and it had a very laid-back atmosphere. There could be some more options on the savoury menu, the cakes were great!

“Small very cute cafe”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 28, 2013

Great homemade food. The pancakes tasted homemade and was super yummy. The porridge with rubard compote was great.

Very good value for money.

Friendly staff.

“A real slice of Reykjavik”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 27, 2013

A lovely little cafe which avoids much of the tourist humdrum. The cafe is small and quirky, the food is tasty and very reasonably priced and the staff are friendly and welcoming. It is a great place to see some locals instead of just tourists!

We had the ham and cheese toasted sandwich and an egg and cheese toasted sandwich which were both hearty and flavoursome. The hot chocolate is fabulous and they have an excellent selection of teas too.

“A is for Accommodating”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 17, 2013

My wife's preferred coffee is American-style café au lait (strong drip coffee with steamed milk). Not on any European menu? No problem at C is for Cookie.

Coming from shopping along Skólavörðustígur, it's one block from the statue of the people made of broken glass. (Don't hug the statue!) Follow the footprints painted on the sidewalks, to the right as you're facing the cathedral. It's cozy and welcoming. The owners have their act together, make good coffee, and don't overcharge. Locals, youth-hostelers, and guest-housing families alike will all feel welcome here. I'd go back again.
