Loving Middle Eastern food, I'd put this small restaurant on my list of places for dinner. The menu is good and the prices were Icelandic average.
My order was taken quickly and the meal can quite soon. (Combo meal with rice). The portions were good (for me) and the food was delicious. Substituting rice for french fries was OK. (French fries with lamb???)
However, I asked for a cucumber sauce rather than the 'red' sauce that came with the meat. The woman started to give me an argument, telling me that it wasn't ketchup but a mixture of tomatoes, peppers, and eggplant. Nice, but I couldn't eat it and wanted the more traditional cucumber and yogurt sauce. Her reply of "OK, you can have it" was a bit abrupt and said with a huffy attitude.
So - food was excellent. The person interacting with diners needs some serious customer relations training. She isn't a native Icelander and if she wants to be successful in Reykjavik, she needs to project the native welcome and assistance.
