We unfortunately had a rainy day for this trip, but I can't blame the weather! Upon arrival we (and another couple) asked if we would need over-pants (we could have hired them!) and were told by our guide that we were okay with the pants we were wearing. Very bad advice as although our raincoats protected us, the rain ran through our soaked pants and straight into our shoes (I had to pour about 1 liter of water from each!) Once we returned to the base of glacier there was really no where to shelter and facilities were very poor. So it was then 3-4 cold & miserable hours before we got back to our hotel.
It was amazing to be on the glacier, even in the rain but our experience could have been so much better if we had been given the right advice and looked after!
