“Outstanding soup, with beer - what more could you want?”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 10, 2014 via mobile

All the other 5 star reviews have said it already - this is the best soup we found in Reykjavik, by a mile. It's a very good idea and a nice bit of theatre to serve the soup in crusty cob bread, and the soup we had was excellent. The perfect meal to keep you going on a cold dark afternoon. The atmosphere is good and the service is relaxed but friendly. Great selection of beers too.

“Best place to eat soup in Reykjavik!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 8, 2014

What a find - on a very dark and cold night in Reykjavik - we found this place serving soup in a bread bun - very cool and no washing up - we visit twice and have a very tasty Mexican chicken soup. Good value in a city that is very expensive, It gets very busy and a few times we had to go back later to get a table.

“Delicious”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 8, 2014 via mobile

What can I say apart from delicious! 2 choices of soul each day.. On offer for us were mushroom and spicy chicken... Both gorgeous. The bread is crusty and tasty (almost finished the whole bowl).
Staff are very friendly and the whole place is welcoming.

Definitely visit

“A gimmick gone good”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 8, 2014

I found this place about ten years ago and at first I thought "soup in bread"? I tried it and have been going back ever since. The soup in bread is delicious but so are the other items on the menu.
The owner and staff are so friendly and treat you as a close friend. They will find you a seat near the window where you can relax and watch the world go bye in this unique and beautiful city.

“Perfect lunch stop”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 7, 2014

After reading about this place and it's soup in bread we decided to make it a stop for lunch on a Saturday in Reykjavik.

We went reasonably early and luckily it wasn't too busy. The soup choices was an Indian style vegetarian or an Italian meat - we had one of each.

And it was AMAZING! So tasty and lots of it.

Would absolutely recommend their soup and the service was also friendly and efficient.
