My husband and I were given a family room on the side furthest away from the motorway so it was incredibly peaceful and quiet. What was lovely about this hotel/guesthouse was the fact that one could open the windows to let in fresh air. This is a factor that has put me off from grander/larger hotels because they tend to make the windows airtight and only let the air conditioning take over.
The water was wonderfully hot, not always what one finds in other budget accommodation.
We made extensive use of the cooking facilities downstairs and this was perfectly adequate.
For budget accommodation I cannot fault this establishment
The location is just a bit outside Reykjavik centre but quite near the airport bus station and Perlan and a very good Supermarket. But please be advised Iceland have huge mountains
and so Reykjavik is hilly so even the shortest distance can be a bit of a trek for older travellers like ourselves. I would advise a hire car(there is plenty of parking) at all times and they are not so very expensive to hire in Iceland and driving in Iceland is a doddle once you get used to the left hand gear box.
