Fresh seafood, reasonable prices, consistently delicious, obvious local favorite.
We were in search of where locals in Reykjavik eat fresh seafood (not looking for fancy dining) and were pointed to the Seabaron by many people not in the tourism business.
Seriously, we ate here 5 times in one week! (various lunch and dinners)
Many selections of fresh seafood, including whale, are on skewers. You pick, they grill, fantastic every time!
Originally a fishman's bunk house the dude who ran the joint was grilling one day years ago. Some of the fishermen asked him to grill up their catch of the day for supper and the idea for a restaurant in the harbor was born. Seabaron creator and owner is often there, speaking to patrons (well, in Icelandic) and handing out photos of himself.
This is not a fancy place, it's an order at the counter, eat on picnic table type place - but with a view of the harbor and excellent seafood. So NOT disappointing - great value for the food quality.
