“Local Folk law”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 1, 2013

If you are staying in Keflavik it is worth popping in to see the sleeping Giantess, she is deffinitely a rough diamond!!! It made us smile - we stayed at the Hotel Berg which is only 3 minutes walk. Not worth a trip to but if you are there....

“Follow the Sounds”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 17, 2013

While outside the Hotel Berg we heard weird noises that seemed to be coming from an opening in a cave at the base of a walkway. We followed the path, and wound up inside a cave with an oversized ogre that made all kinds of sounds! The cave had crystal formations and was very interesting and a little Disneylike treat. The views of the harbor there are spectacular as well. Just a silly fun quick little walking adventure.

“Worth a look.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 14, 2013

In a cave below the Hotel Berg, I spent an idle few minutes visiting, great bit of fun, and tastefully tucked away, the snoring , farting (yes really) giantess sleeps guarding the dummy tree where children hang their dummy when they have grown out of it, very Icelandic!

“Fun - like a lot of Iceland - something you won't see anywhere else in the world”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 21, 2013

We had asked about the curious old wooden house built into the rocks at the edge of the harbor and they said that was where the Giantess lived. So the next morning, seeing the doors open, we had to visit. Clever, cute - worth the few minutes it takes to pay her a visit. And don't forget the video camera because she snores - and that is half the charm.

“Curiosity like none other”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 15, 2013

This is a carved wooden giantess in a rocking chair, snoring loudly away, housed in a lava cave. Inside is a tree adorned with babies' pacifiers, donated by kids who have outgrown them. Worth a 3-minute visit.
Go to the west end of the harbor and look for a short cliff with a sidewalk leading to it. Follow the giant footprints.
No other facilities.
