“Wonder Place To Start An Icelandic Vacation”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 12, 2013

Nothing gets you better prepared for a week in Iceland than to begin to decompress from hectic time changes and travel headaches in a splendid accommodation like the Hotel Berg. That it is located in a quaint seaside fishing village only minutes from the International Airport is an added bonus. You would think that noise from the airport would be distracting, but such is not the case, as the location is not in line with any of the runway patterns, and noise is not a factor. The Owners are operating a first class establishment in all respects. Highly recommend.

We had a perfect stay at this lovely small hotel on the edge of Keflavik town.
The room was very comfortable with all amenities.
The breakfast was just right and the complimentary tea & coffee were very welcome.
The staff were very helpful and the airport transfer perfect.
Thank you for a very enjoyable stay.

Room Tip: All rooms are nice.

This hotel was our favourite in our trip to Iceland. We booked a suite which had big windows with views over the harbour. The staff are very friendly and the hotel is really homely with a nice breakfast served from 4am which you help yourself to, also a coffee machine available all the time. On the TV we could get UK channels amongst others which was great as the other hotels we stayed in had very little reception, pretty much only sky news. It is a 5 min drive from the airport and about 20 mins to the Blue Lagoon. We'd stay here again!!

My daughter and I stayed for four nights and found the staff absolutely great, was made to feel as if this was our home from home. Lovely breakfast area where you help yourself and very comfy lounge area. If you hire a car use the company the hotel owners advise as very good price and courteous hand overs . Would we stay here again, Yes for def.

If you need a stopover before flying out of Iceland, please stay here. Its a VERY nice calm family run hotel, with an amazing trust factor built in! The place is modern, very clean, comfortable, basically its your home. The rooms are lovely, I had a huge bathroom with separate shower, jacuzzi bath, great TV with UK telly, but the draw for me was the lounge with nice books just hangin around, binoculars to look out at the harbour, a guitar to play if you feel particularly laid back, an honesty bar if you fancy a beer or a vino, a 24 hour coffeee machine with seriously great coffee, a lovely breakfast, nice people and a lift to the airport free of charge. All for £75 GBP or €90/$115 a night
Keflavik town is a 10 minute walk. Great. I cannot give it a higher accolade. Would come to Iceland just to stay here!

Room Tip: Room 17 was particularly nice.

Hotel Berg was quite the nice to place to stay on our last night in Iceland. It was close to the Blue Lagoon and the airport. The staff was gracious and helpful with transportation included back to the airport. I loved the sitting and breakfast area. It was inviting and included antiques and a coffee machine, which dispensed a good selection of beverages from tea to a cappuccino all day long. Cookies were available during the day and the breakfast was more than I could have asked for. I would highly recommend this place and would stay there again.

The building is pleasant, quite clean with comfortable common areas and adequate parking. Our room was clean with a comfortable bed, but the room was very warm, and we were not able to adjust the temperature. We ended up opening a window, but the room never cooled off, even though it was quite cool outside. Breakfast was very good, and the location was very convenient to Keflavik airport for our early flight the next morning. I would be willing to try the hotel again, but would hope to have better success with room temperature adjustment.
