“Good Stay for a late layover”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 13, 2012

The staff on desk at 3 am were very friendly--they accommodated our last minute request for two singles rather than one double (snoring issues) at a reasonable cost. The rooms still had two beds. I had one hitch--the confirmation email said I was to look for someone in the airport with a sign. Well, there is another Bed and Breakfast in Keflavik downtown, and they had a person with a sign, and the names of the guests they were looking for. I don't know what was going on in my confirmation email--I called the B&B and they said I was supposed to look for the shuttle van at the Meeting Point (this is a very visible sign in the departures part of the airport). I would rate the place 5 (eyes, stars?) but for this miscommunication. The bedclothes consisted of a sheeted mattress covered by something I think of as a feather comforter in a duvet. Looks informal, but was clean and sufficiently warm. I would stay here again. Breakfast was sandwiches (meat salads or cold cuts), flavored pourable yogurt, cereals, some slightly scary fruit, great coffee, and fruit drink. I would definitely stay here again.

We started by either being forgotten at the airport or missing the connection. Once we were able to call them the shuttle came and picked us up and checked us in. I asked about getting to the Blue Lagoon and was told he'd look into bus routes. Then I took a nap. When I returned he'd forgotten to look it up and was told it would be best to go back to the airport and take a bus from there. Which is what we did. They drove us to and from the hotel each time. Allowed for an early check in and late check out to accommodate this. That was probably the best part about staying here. When I returned I saw the price of their rental cars and think that may have been cheaper. OH well. The room is pretty bare bones but roomy. Same goes for the bathroom. They really should put mattress pads on instead of sheets directly on the mattresses. Breakfast had a pretty big selection with most of your scandinavian type breakfast stuff. Wifi worked well.

Very friendly staff. The rooms are large and clean, but nothing fancy. They also have triple rooms and family rooms with two separate sleeping areas. Breakfast was very basic, but available from 4.30, so perfect for our early departure flight. It's very close to the airport so a good option for early departures or late arrivals.
This is also the most important drawback, because people will arrive and leave all night and the doors won't stop all the noise.
The free shuttle to the terminal is very useful.
It is not in the city centre so you will need a car if you want to go to Keflavik city centre (f.e. for dinner).
They have a car rental in the hotel, but you can also ask other car rentals to bring your rental car to the hotel or pick it up at the hotel. This might save you one rental day.

We (party of 4) were there on April 1/2 2012. The Motel is very conveniently located 5 minutes from Keflavik Airport in one of the buildings that were built for the US base that was closed on September 2006. Most of the buildings are empty and the whole area is deserted but the hotel is like an hot oasis in cold prairie.
We only paid €65 with breakfast. Large room with options for singles or double beds. Clean and quiet. They are very accommodating and flexible on check in and check out hours. We checked in at 6:30 AM and we were offered breakfast right away. The next morning we had a flight to Frankfurt at 7:00 am when usually breakfast starts but they made arrangements only for us for the breakfast to be ready at 5:30. That was two breakfast for one night booked. And the breakfast is awesome, everything that you would expect, very good food and variety.
People are very polite and friendly regardless of the time of day, pick up and drop off service from the airport is fast and reliable. They warmed up the shuttle for us while we had breakfast.
I would recommend this place without any hesitation at all.
The night we stay we were too tired to go in the town to eat and we asked for some info on a decent place to have a bite of foot around. They recommended a pizza place just behind the Motel. You would never see it and expect such a nice place in that neighborhood. It is called
Langbest Pizza and trust me, I have been through the whole world but I wound never expect such a good pizza from a place like this. I will write a review on that too. Search it on TripAdvisor.

Getting around to Reykjavik was easy, we rented a car from the Airport through Avis,it came to $80. That is also recommended if you want to have the liberty to explore the surroundings.

Overall we were very happy with this spot and if we will pass by there again we will kook this motel again with no doubts.

Room Tip: book ahead and email Bragi the hotel manager/owner with all your requests and concerns. He will arra...

If you need a room by Keflavik airport this is the place to stay. The rooms are huge - 3 adults sharing have room to spare. The en-suite bathrooms clean and modern. The staff helpful and friendly. There is a kitchen if you want to cook. I liken it to how service used to be in UK before the big chains took over - you leave feeling that you have had great value for money.

Where else can you arrive at 3 am at an airport to find a free personal taxi service with a driver who carries both suitcases to your room and then asks if you need a coffee. All at a bargain price.
Worth every penny and more.

Claire Carter

Room Tip: This is an airport hotel. It provides that bed you need for the night and does it very well.

Spent one night before flying back to Manchester. Cost me €75. Room was huge and clean, people friendly and helpful. Bit dear though, as we'd just been in the centre of Reykjavik in a 4* hotel for the same rate.

Free shuttle to terminal very useful at 6.30 in the morning.

Room Tip: Doesn't really matter, you'd usually only be here for one night.

Very convenient for Keflavik airport. Staff are friendly and helpful - nothing is too much trouble for them. If there was a kettle in the room it would be even perfect.
