“Nice place to visit also in the summer time”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 23, 2014

Very nice place to visit while in Akureyri. It as a lot of ornaments for christmas, both international and some Icelandic. I would have liked them to have more handcraft from iceland. Nice place.

“Because why not?”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 20, 2014

I mean, it's a little christmas house that smells like christmas and is filled with christmas trinkets and bits and pieces from around the world, so what's not to like. That being said, I did visit in the height of Summer, so it was a bit of a bizzare stop on the trip, and the poor lady who had to stand listening to Icelandic christmas carols all day looked pretty bored in there, but for the sheer randomness alone you should stop by this place. It's about 10-15 minutes drive outside the city, not too taxing.

I bet it's gorgeous in the winter!

“Expensive but unique”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 10, 2014

a bit out of the way - had to make a specific trip, but we wanted to get some Icelandic holiday decorations so this would be the obvious place. Very cute - well done and great for photos. the decor items were unique, a bit pricey but understandable - maybe best to say 'not inexpensive or bargain priced' The back tower has the storybook illustrations - very sweet and fun to visit.
This shop sells the annual artist Christmas bell - each is numbered and of course we had to have one! Good elf and troll items, beautiful handmade items and a surefire way to collect all 13 Santas in ornaments, statues, books - however you like them. There are some interesting churches and mailboxes along the road if you explore a bit - to make the travel worth it.

“Lovely selection of Christmassy things, lots locally made”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 7, 2014

The current house is on 2 levels and has a wide range of Christmassy things plus other gift items, including cards, tea, etc. You could spend a lot of money in here is you have a penchant for decorating your home at Christmas time - they take credit cards! It is a popular place and they are building a new and bigger version close by ......

“Warm and Inviting little Place”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 3, 2014

It sells a wide variety of Christmas ornaments and a BIG selection of sweet treats. It's design is enchanting. It accepts Euros, GBR£ as well as Icelandic Krona. Pieces are wrapped well for travel. Nice to know the pieces I purchased are not available anywhere else in Europe/US as I search amazon and Ebay after my first visit for the things I'd liked. had to return to get them.

Some of the ornaments are overpriced compared with what you might choose to pay in Britain, is you aren't into less commercial baubles, trinkets and adornments.
