“BEST EVER NORTH CYPRUS HOLIDAY EXPERIENCE”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 17, 2013

I stayed at the (AHV) for 14 nights in May 2013. This was my 6th visit to this beautiful country. Although i had previously stayed 5*, 4* and 3* Hotels, i can honestly say that the Almond Holiday Village outshines them all. The food was excellent ,the service was First Class and the ethos of this family run establishment was to ensure that their guests were comfortable.
The management were well supported by a dedicated staff and it speaks volumes that most of the staff are longstanding employees.

Surrounded by beautiful gardens and having a lovely Pool area the (AHV) is the perfect venue for those who want a relaxing holiday.

In the warmer weather lunches and dinners are served alfresco adjacent to the pool area. I had most of my lunches at the Almond and found them affordable as was the cost of drinks.

Breakfasts are served in the charming indoor restaurant efficiently managed by Lilly and are an enjoyable start to the day.

I enjoyed this holiday so much that i booked a return visit for 14 nights in October 2013.

You can book direct with the Almond who can also arrange your airport transfers.

My fellow guests were very friendly . Several were return visitors and everybody i met said they would return to the Almond.

Thank you to everyone at the Almond for your kindness. i shall see you in the Autumn.

Room Tip: I stayed for one night in a hotel room. As i have a walking difficulty i was transferred at the Pro...

My wife and I very recently returned from a visit. We selected Almond based largely upon the positive reviews in TripAdvisor. What we read was true. This is a truly "complete" vacation proposition, very professionally executed with great warmth and friendliness.

Our positive experience began with email correspondence with Gulten, front desk manager, who provided immediate responses to questions and specific requests we had. She was able to arrange transfers from (and back to) Nicosia at very competitive rates in a comfortable vehicle. She was able to confirm a rental car (they have their own agency) for our stay, and granted permission for us to bring treats for their dog and cats. (We are real animal lovers. Lucky became my new best friend in short order, even visiting our room on several occasions.)

When departing Nicosia, the arranged driver arrived on time in a comfortable van, and the transfer was billed to our Almond account. Upon our mid-day arrival our room was not yet ready, so we had a most enjoyable lunch while waiting. We immediately observed a level of professionalism uncommon in properties of any class: our server (Lily) had a walkie-talkie w/earpiece and was able to tell us when our room was ready (and our room #). All employees were similarly equipped so assistance can be quickly summoned when needed. (The restaurant servers also could be advised when food was ready to be served in this highly efficient and unobtrusive manner.)

We opted for a hotel room, B&B, and it was a good choice for us. The double bed is a smaller than the kings most Americans are accustomed to, but it was fine. (My wife thought it was a bit on the firm side.) The mini-bar fridge was adequate to keep a few items chilled. Water pressure was fine, with no shortage of hot water.

The breakfast buffet had all the essentials, and after sitting down with cereal, fruit, coffee, breads, etc., the several hot (included) menu offerings were varied and very tasty. No one left the breakfast room wanting. Lunch offerings were quite tasty as well, and the many options for dinner (set menu or ala carte) were very well prepared and presented. Next time we come, we shall certainly take more meals within, but the local variety of restaurants is tempting,

The grounds are spacious and immaculately maintained, and the "set back" from the main road eliminates the noise other properties have to endure. The pool is exceptionally large for a facility of this size, and one never felt crowded in the pool area. Oh, and you could always ask Ahmed (working the bar, usually) to take you to feed the (three) ostriches! (In the morning, we would take an apple for the horses.)

The rental car we reserved (at a very competitive rate) was new, clean and well equipped. Having it available "right there" was extremely convenient.

There is a new Sports Lounge, thankfully nearby but removed from the main location, where guests can watch major sporting events without keeping the rest of the sleeping guests awake with their cheering. (There were soccer playoffs taking place with UK teams, and this was a terrific venue for watching the games. There is a bar within and multiple big screens.) Most of the guests were Brits, and we were the only Americans, but the language commonality made making new friends simple.

The best for last: the "family" at the Almond. Not only Ali, Dervise, Gulten, Ishay, Ahmed, Lily and the rest of the staff, but the pets and guests all became "family" if only for the time of the visit. The warmth and caring attitude were remarkable and not replicated in my experience of travel to 67 countries.

This is absolutely a first-class, first-choice destination. You cannot go wrong.

Stayed here for two weeks, excellent family run hotel/apartments.Beautiful manicured grounds and a large pool.Nothing was too much trouble and the staff were excellent, especially Lily. There is a fantastic, modern sports bar with multiple screens for big sporting occasions. There are numerous animals but the cutest is the owners pet dog,Lucky,a Cyprus poodle.Take some doggy treats if you want him to be your best friend. There is also a very lovable dog at the back of the grounds but he sadly always has to be chained up.The rooms are well maintained and the food is very good.I cannot recommend highly enough.Realy is like a beautiful oasis in a less then pretty area.

This hotel is the best place we have ever stayed. So relaxing and wonderful service from friendly and efficient staff. Can only echo what the other reviews have said. Could not fault it. Can't wait to go again. Paradise.

My wife and I have just returned from a 2 week stay at Almond Village, we went to North Cyprus last October and had a chance meeting with somebody who recommended Almond Village, I can only echo his recommendation. This is a wonderful place, first class service and a beautiful location. It is a joy to find people who genuinely care about their customers, Ali and his family are the most considerate and professorial people that i have met in a holiday resort, add to that the lovely Lily who will serve you breakfast with a guaranteed smile also the charming Ken who is your waiter in the evenings you cannot fail to be impressed.
The rooms are comfortable and clean, the food is very good. We stayed on a Bed and Breakfast basis as we wanted to try some local restaurants in the evenings (Don't walk past Makbus in Alsancak village, very basic but terrific service and the Lamb Chops are to die for, also don't order a starter, you wont need one).
However in the evenings at Almond Village you have the option to eat from the Half Board menu or to eat A la carte which we did on several occasions. All priced very reasonably and excellent quality, try the steaks and the Mexican chicken.
Last but not least the gardens and the gardener, the grounds here are absolutely beautiful and immaculately kept by the gardener who works from dawn to dusk. I failed to ask him his name, but not to worry because, you guessed it, i shall ask him next year when we return to this Paradise at Affordable Prices.

Room Tip: The Mezzanine apartments just up from the swimming pool have a wonderful view of the gardens.

We have just returned from 1 week holiday at Almond Holiday Village. Like others we read the reviews and were a bit uncertain whether they were true and once we get there we found out the reviews were completelt true and the hotel owners and staff were lovely.

As i wore a islamic veil and so did some memmbers of my family i was uncertain how we would be treated and also accomdated for but the hotel was was very accomdating. We had a self catering room which was cleaned every day, fresh towels in bathroom, beds done, dishes washed and floors cleaned, anything we asked for and any special needs we had the hotel met, a corner table, vegetarian food and a quite room in the hotel everything was met. Even to the point the day we left, we requested sandwiches to be made to take with us, they were made and packed for us.

The owner of the hotel Ali and his family are all very pleasant and humble people and made us all very comfortable and we couldnt have asked for a better hotel.

The breakfast choices were excellent and anything else you wanted you got. A very nice hotel for a good price. Recommended in every way, A* Hotel!!
