“You can walk behind the waterfall”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 28, 2013

Very nice waterfall that can compete with the more famous Skogafoss. We discovered it because we saw many cars there. The nice thing is that you can walk behind the waterfall on an exciting path (and get wet of course). A 30 minute's stop there is more than recommended.

“Beautiful”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 27, 2013

We visited this waterfall on our way back from Jökulsárlón and it was a truly amazing experience. The weather was great - after 3 days of pouring rain we enjoyed our first hours of sunshine in Iceland. The view of this gracious waterfall (certainly not as wide as some others, but exactly this made it special for me) was unforgettable, especially with the rainbow on both sides, I couldn't take my eyes off it for 20 minutes. Also you can walk behind it, but I wouldn't do it unless my clothes and camera are waterproof.

“Nice but not number 5 in Iceland”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 18, 2013

Certainly a nice experience specially ifs just start your tour but after seeing quite few nicer waterfalls in Icelnd I can say its very nice but not on my top 5 waterfalls.
As its very close to the road it's recommended.

“Wow!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 15, 2013 via mobile

The waterfall is not the greatest. But the fact that you can walk behind it, is endlessly nifty. Spectacular nature and story about this countrys creation. One can spend lots of camera time here, but be aware - it better be waterproof.

“Not as magnificent, but special experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 15, 2013

There are many more breath taking waterfalls in Iceland, but I loved this one for it's special trademark - there is a path taking you behind the waterfall. It's a special experience to see all this water from another perspective. It is also very close to the road 1 so it will not take much of your time.
