“Not a bad hotel but...”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 30, 2013

Stayed here for one night and opted for an economy room since we did not expect to spend much time in room except sleep and shower. Was a little surprised to see a room in need of work. First, it was tiny. Not much room to roam around. However, the bathroom was extremely tight. In fact, the heated towel bar juts out of the wall and over the toilet. Therefore, if your male and need to go into the bathroom in the middle of the night, one needs to be careful and not touch the bar because you can burn yourself. :) LOL My advise is to stand slightly to the side of the toilet. Grout in shower was disgusting and pieces of formica around the vanity was chipped away or pealing off. Mirror in main room had a partial fog over it. The two twin beds were ok and the room was quiet. I need to mention that checkin and everyone we dealt with at hotel was polite and cordial. The breakfast the next morning was very nice and is more than a 'continental' like someone else stated in another review. Also, someone said in a review that the breakfast room was tiny. Not so. There was plenty of tables to go around and the staff was efficient and on the ball. Selection of breakfast items was very nice from cold cuts/cheeses/vegetables/rolls/yogurt/cereal. Riisipiirakka was very good. Coffee was weak however very hot but we're used to that in most hotels. Not a bad time and would stay there again if we need to be in this part of the world but for 122euros per night, we expected it to be a bit better. However, since there is not many options, I guess the hotels can charge what they want.

Room Tip: Ask for room away from main road. Otherwise, you will have to endure the loud karaoke bar across the...

The hotel was central, with a car park - helpful staff and would recommend. Breakfast was good and the rooms were fine. A comfortable short stay of two nights. It was easy to walk to the lake and although on a main street with a station opposite it was quiet.

I doubt that you anywhere else find receptionist like these. They had a great sense of humour, were very, very service minded and helpful - more than we have ever met!
The room was large and light, the breakfast very good - all in all a good experience.
Thanks to the girls at the reception :-)

This was a moderately pleasant hotel, spoiled somewhat by the attitude of its staff. The service at reception was not very good even to the point of not answering the phone when rung. The waitress service in the restaurant was sullen and the food was average. We were part of a group of 31 and we corralled into a side dining room. You had no choice over your meal and so if you did not like/ want fish as a main course the attitude was - tough! The sauce on the fish was over salted and the desert comprised of an inch cube of ice cream, some people only received half of that! OK you could blame the tour company for the food but the lack of choice and reluctant staff were the responsibility of the hotel.

Room Tip: Make sure you don't get the room on the second floor which is overlooked by the walkway to the c...

We've been here about 2 years ago, but then we had an economy room. Now we booked standard double for 3 nights and were happily surprised by the size of the room with a king size bed. Room had a sofa which I think serves as an extra bed if booked for triple. Service at front desk was also a pleasant surprise because it was excellent (as we had bad experience in 2011). Our room faced the railwaystation, so I could hear the loudspeakers time to time as well as the karaoke from the bar outside. So pack earplugs if you are light sleeper.
Airconditioning worked well, bathroom floor heating did not work at all, maybe because of July? Cleaning was so-and-so, as first cleaning was perfect and the second not. Comfy bed, standard breakfast, parking still a problem if you arrive late. But the larger parking is only a block away, and the price is the same.

Location good, as you can easily walk to the pedestrian area with shopping malls and restaurants. There are 2 restaurants at the hotel.
Overall we had very pleasant stay.

Room Tip: Room facing the railway station are a bit noisy because of the karaoke across the street. But inner...

A conveniently located hotel at the railway station and a few small blocks from the central pedestrian area (where all the restaurants and shops are).
Very friendly and warm receptionists. I had a hiccup in my reservation which was sorted out in a efficient and friendly way.
Rooms are simple and small but the bed was OK. The toilet was small as well but clean and functional. I have criticized WiFi connections often in my reviews, but now there was nothing to complain. The bandwidth was OK and the signal strong and it was free.
The hotel was full, so the breakfast room was way too small for the crowd.

Got this hotel at a good rate. The hotel is in the center with a 3 min. work to the pedestrian street with all the shops and restaurants. The hotel had its own parking for only 10€ per day - parking is hard to find - its just behind the hotel going down a small alley. The reception girls where very nice and all in/out of the hotel was perfect.

The bar was a bit slow but when they finally found us the service was super.

Breakfirst was a very nice big continental breakfirst. Did not use the restaurant or any other service. The room was small but compaired with the price it was ok.
