“Cool,Calm and Collected.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 30, 2011

The Glo Kluuvi Hotel in Helsinki is one hotel that deserves to be labelled a ‘boutique’ hotel.
The word ‘Boutique’ is a becoming a sweeping statement for hotels that attempt to minimise expense by becoming minimal, not for aesthetic reasons but more for economic. They can hide old veneers by splashing around brightly coloured paint to disguise what they actually lack in amenities and service.
The Glo is none of these. From the friendly and attentive staff to the well appointed, spacious, stylish rooms, the Glo stands out in a class of its own.
Not to be missed when in Helsinki.

Rooms are fantastic, very modern and well equipped with many optional (free) extras. Always clean although sometimes maid service forgot the small details. Breakfast was average, not quite befitting the cost with small choice. Reception staff either brusk or rude as opposed to the warm welcome you would expect. A small gripe however.

This is a wonderful hotel with large, clean, comfortable rooms in the heart of the city. The decor is Scandinavian modern with whimsical touches - like the stuffed tiger on the bed. The staff was uniformly pleasant and helpful, even when I checked in at midnight. Breakfast buffet was small but with plenty of the usual choices. This is a hotel not to be missed for comfort, location and value in Helsinki.

Very pleasant, if short (1 night), stay in the end of June 2011.

Stayed in an impressive Deluxe room facing the pedestrian Kluuvikatu. The rooms are huge and very nicely decorated. The location in the city center is perfect, within walking distance of the train station or the harbour.

One minus is the breakfast. For the price of the room, I expected more than a quite standard scandinavian breakfast buffet.

Centrally located boutique hotel, walking distance from restaurants, bars and shops. Our room was small but very comfortable and modern. The facilities in the hotel were excellent. The staff wee incredibly helpful and even provided breakfast for us when we had a very early flight the next day.

to begin with: a pleasant stay - i stayed for 5 nights, and had a deluxe room.
location is perfect - in walking distance from the train station and the airport link, as well as from all the good sights, shopping areas and restaurants. this was the main reason for my choice.
the reception staff was very friendly and helpful, and the room was flawless, although with some slightly unpractical design details that i found are quite common in hotels (i look at this from the point of view of an architect): no stool or chair in the bathroom, no space or holder to let the towels dry (yes, i want to let them dry, and not get a new towel every day...) - but these are minor details. besides that, very spicy room, nice lighting, and a huge wardrobe!
unfortunately the air condition wasn t heating up enough, they said they can t fix it quickly and gave me an additional heater, which was - ...ok. i expected that they solved the problem during my stay, but... anyway.
breakfast is great, a good buffet selection. didn t try the restaurant/bar though.

Room Tip: street view is better in my opinion - the courtyard may be quiet, but nothing great to look at.

Stayed here three times with work. Great rooms, very modern and spacious. Great location and rooms facing the middle courtyard, are amazingly quiet given the city centre location. Very comfy beds and quiet so slept perfectly.

Room Tip: Rooms facing inner courtyard.
