“GOOD”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 1, 2014

Good hotel. I travel for only 1 day. Perhaps something that disturb me was the curtains are very thin and the light come into the room, i'm not accustommed. Breakfast OK, and the people at the reception are very kind. The bathroom is tiny.

Lovely design hotel in the heart of Helsinki. NIcely decorated rooms. One of the best hotel breakfast ever had!! The cheapest rooms are a bit small if you stay longer than one or two days, but already the passion and desire are good in size for longer stay.

I´ve been staying here many times and I´ll be coming back everytime when visiting Helsinki. The staff is superb. Breakfast too. On the first floor there is a great restaurant. Rooms are spacy. Looking forward to stay in the new Sky Loft rooms.

A true five star experience for all your senses! Great location in the city centre of Helsinki. We stayed in one of the artsy suites, which totally blowed our minds. Great staff always there for you and simply the best breakfast I have ever had, anywhere

Like all good Helsinki Hotels, the rates available seem to vary very widely. This is a very nice, non-chain type Hotel & if you can get i for less than say €150 it's well worth considering. Excellent location with lots of restauraunts in the immediate vicinity.

This was a reasonable hotel in a great central location but I still found the experience a little underwhelming despite some positive attributes. Perhaps it was all the 'boutique hotel' and 'meeting place for celebs' hype I had read beforehand which left me a bit disappointed. As a single traveler, I was placed in a tiny badly designed cell with limited storage space and a narrow single bed - which in my experience is happily quite rare these days. One of the light fittings didn't work, the bath mat wasn't replaced after day 1 and it was impossible to see the tv screen from the bed. The decor in my room actually felt quite dated rather than cutting edge Scandinavian chic. The so-called bar downstairs is really a nightclub which appeared soulless and deserted before midnight. After midnight, the techno beat music was clearly audible on the sixth floor! As other reviewers have rightly said, the choice of breakfasts in two different restaurant areas was very good as was the general professionalism of the staff. But somehow I still left after three nights feeling a bit disappointed by the whole experience.

Room Tip: Ask about beds beforehand if you are a single traveler - avoid room 612!

Absolutely wonderful breakfast buffet, mostly organic & very fresh. Plenty of gluten free options available along with the usual (& unusual) fare made life wonderful for me. Very cool public spaces, including a cocktail table that can be touched to order cocktails- really!. Room was small but had everything, including 2 chairs & a comfortable simple king bed, which we love! Very Eco conscious- eg, no little bottles of stuff but rather refillable large ones, well placed. Blackout shades were provided & needed because of white nights- 24 hr light is interesting but not so great for sleep! Perfect location- it's possible to walk almost anywhere, or if buses are your thing, they stop very near... Even the hop on hop off tour bus. Close to the market where you may order a reasonably priced delicious meal in a very pricy city. The staff is competent & friendly, & will go out of the way to be helpful. For example, one friend was ill when we arrived & they promptly arranged a doctor visit for the same day, which btw was efficient & very helpful for her. All in all, highly recommended. It's kind of expensive for what you get by American standards, but Helsinki just is. Very glad we came!
