“Beyond all expectations”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 20, 2012

Everything at Radisson was better than expected. The room was extremely confortable, with super-soft beds and a wonderful view over the harbour. It was very well equipped (microwave oven, ironing set, free WiFi, etc.). The staff was very kind, competent and smiling. The breakfast buffet very well stocked, with a huge variety of food. Inspite of being a very large hotel, it was very quiet and ideally located, with tram #6 to the town centre stopping just in front of the hotel.

It's a nice hotel with very kind and professional staff. Rooms were nicely prepared and bds were actually very comfortable. The only drawback was closed restaurant on Sundays, probably Finns don't eat on Sundays...

I stayed in a standard room in this hotel and when I saw the room I had a pleasant surprise. The room was very spacious, silent and had coffee and tea facilities. The location is quite good, the tram nr. 6 is just outside of the hotel and if you decide to walk, in 15 minutes you can reach Mannerheimintie where there are shopping malls, cafes and pubs.
The breakfast was very good, with a big variety to choose from. This hotel has exceeded my expectations and I would definitely stay in it again.
A tip coming from the airport: if you take a bus from the airport to downtown, you can take tram nr. 6 and get off very close to the hotel. It is far to walk from the final airport bus stop to the hotel.

I travelled here on work. Spent 3 nights. It's well located, walking distance from restaurants. The hotel service is busy, standard rooms are small and uninspiring. Good restaurant. In general the service was good but not great matter of fact, and functional. I wouldn't recommend staying here on holiday, but good for a work trip of a couple nights.

Room Tip: Tryr to pick a business class room or executive room with a view of the sea.

Tidy and comfy rooms during both weeks of stay. A decent sauna able to get some steam, can be overcrowded sometimes though. Haven't visited the gym, but my colleague was rather satisfied with that. A little more variety for breakfast choices comparing to other Helsinki hotels. Have spotted a lonely FT couple of times, no other EN newspaper available.
Convenient commute as tram N6 final stop is right near the hotel entrance. Helsinki aren't so big, it takes only 10 min more to get back from across city (Pasila, Hartwall Arena) in the evening leisurely walking, compared to spending 40 min when switching to N7 near the central rw station.
However it's best to avoid this hotel if you need couple of hours (or lot more ... heh) of net in the evening - D is <1Mb/s (having U ~5Mb/s ...). Theoretically it should be just enough to stream 360p, however constant spikes make it impossible for most of the time. Same goes for trying to fill buffer - socket corruption is almost guaranteed every 5 min. I'm not aware of situation at morning or during the day, it even was almost acceptable for half of an evening once, but still ... colleague had same issue, being located on different floor and building wing.
Also elevators are somewhat slowish and one of lift 1's is tricky to use as it won't recognize card if you push it too far before pulling out.

Good location if you're going to Tallinn by ferry, for example. The metro station is also quite close. The hotel staff were very friendly. Negative sides were that the promised queen size bed was only two beds pushed together, the pillows were too hard for our taste and there was no sea view. We didn't have any breakfast, because we had to be at the ferry at 8 a.m. and the breakfast started at 7.30 a.m. So the breakfast should have started earlier, I don't like to bolt down the food in 30 minutes.

Not exactly the seaside, very liberal poetic license of a dockside but the hotel is very good. Close to the city centre and good links to businesses in Espoo.
Breakfast and facilities are adequate.
