“Strange place”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 24, 2014

We'd not seen anything like this in Australia as used to outdoor covered areas being part of shopping malls but Kamppi had none.Very austere building.

The lower level has a bus station located right near the supermarket entrance which we found odd and there didn't appear to be anywhere to purchase tickets from an actual person so we preferred to walk to the main coach station.

The stores appeared to be on the expensive side and only saw one chain type store-all others looked like brand names but could be wrong.

We didn't see an information booth despite going there every day.Had never had to pay to use toilets before so also found that a strange experience.

Would only recommend going here to buy anything if you are desperate or staying nearby and wish to purchase groceries-there are 2 largish supermarkets and all staff seemed to speak English which was very helpful.

Was told there was a movie theatre somewhere but never found it.

Be aware that for whatever reason,Finnish people seem to like to take their dogs everywhere, which is allowed,so don't be surprised to even see them in the supermarkets walking along with their owners.

“Great mall and great apartments”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 18, 2014

The shopping center in itself is quite impressive, very clean and with easy access to the main means of transportation: taxis, several tram & bus stations scattered around the perimeter of the mall, and a metro underneath it. You can find pretty much anything you need at Kamppi. The real gem is in the east side of the mall where are several apartments. Very modern, clean, new and with a marvelous verandah with 240 degrees view on Helsinki. It's a calm two-room apartment with 1 bathroom, a well-equipped and functional kitchen, a living, and a heavenly private sauna with view on the city. Shopping is convenient, you just need to take the elevator downstairs. Twice a week two ladies come for basic cleaning, maintenance, and provide new dish clothes, dishwasher tabs, etc. Definitely worth a look.

“One of the easiest places to find in Helsinki”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 29, 2013

The prices in most shops are slightly exaggerated but that aside this shopping center has everything one would want and need. One would however find that it's the favorite place of Finnish teenagers and they can be found in every corner of the mall. Every tram passes through here and the Metro stops here as well. It's also a few hundred meters from the bus station. Overall, Kamppi Shopping Center is a very convenient place.

“More than one function”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 30, 2013

It's a neat idea. Long distance bus station underground, more local buses on the ground floor along with shops and then floors above of all sorts of products and big names.

The square in front of Kamppi, Kampintori, used to be a bus station, but is now a large space for strolling and the old bus station building is a restaurant/bar and shops. In the summer, especially, the square comes to life with events and music.

I don't like Kamppi as much as Itis, but it's got some nice restaurants, albeit fast food type places, in and around and is so central. There's not much you won't find here, but don't forget Stockmann is just over the road too!
