“Superstar is well named”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 8, 2013

We went on a day trip from Tallinn to Helsinki on the Tallink Superstar. We deliberately went in the week to avoid the booze cruisers and had a brilliant trip. The boat is superb with a big bank of seats at the prow - I wish our cross channel boats were as good as this. The buffet breakfast was excellent at about €11 as was the buffet dinner which at €22 included wine, beer and coffee. I believe other boats are older so choose the superstar, it is excellent.

“a good conection”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 5, 2013

as there are only 3-4 option to travel between helsinki and tallin we choose this line as it had more travels during the day that we could accomodate to our agenda.
ship is huge, leaves according to time table, food is a bit expensive, restrooms are fine, wifi is OK,
and if you book in their web site you can see the different fares according to the time in the day you choose toi travel.

“It takes you there.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed November 11, 2013

Expensive food and duty-free etc., airport-style gouging prices. Not many places to sit for those who hadn't booked a cabin. Last-minute confusion at terminal was avoidable- lined up with a bunch of other people in civilian clothes with luggage, only to get to the front of the line and be told this was the line for employees. Told to go to check-in, followed directions, check-in blocked by renovation and signs telling me not to walk though but no explanation as to how else to get to check in. In summary, showed up early and still only made it onto the boat at the last minute.

“Comfortable trip, note departure from West harbour less convenient than South Harbour”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 8, 2013

Used the ferry to travel from Helsinki to Tallinn. Not knowing what to expect, we booked 'comfort class' and it was very comfortable with tea, coffee and nibbles included. Decor is a bit out dated, but was clean and comfortable. There were only about 8 people in this class on our trip so we enjoyed a lot of space at the front of the ship with panoramic windows. Having seen the 'regular' area on the ferry, that would be fine too , it looked perfectly comfortable for the 2 hour travel time and I don't think you really need 'comfort class' for this trip, especially off season.

Booking through direct ferries was easy and ticketing at the terminal was all straight forward. Note, there is quite a long walk to get on to the ferry from the terminal.

One thing to consider using Tallink Silja from Helsinki is that they depart from the West Harbour terminal which is further away than the South Harbour used by Viking and public transport is more difficult. In retrospect we could have walked to the Viking terminal from our accommodation rather than needing a taxi to Tallink's West Harbour terminal. Also Tallink Silja uses terminal D in Tallinn which is also slightly further from the old town than Viking's terminal.

“It takes you there...”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed September 22, 2013

Do not expect too much if you book a trip to Estonia. No service is typical. No more high quality trips to Estonia. Nobody are ready to pay for that. Companies tried to offer everything. Feedback is:"expensive". So just buy your ticket have a table and drink everything positive. When you are drunk everything looks good :) That is the reason why you see so many drunks there.
Then enjoy when you are in Tallinn. There you can find everything to enjoy even without boos.
