Got a table reservation here by mere coincidence, considering the long queues of up to months it has based on their reputation. Walking in to the place, gets you a feeling of arriving into a local bistro somewhere in France, really authentic atmosphere. We were immediately guided by the friendly staff to our table and asked what to drink while getting familiar with the meny. We had gotten a hint to ask for a chef´s surprice meny, but as this was our first time and the meny itself looked delicious, we decided to leave the surprise for next time.
The customer service was top class the whole evening, althought a bit delayed main courses. The staff proved to know the vines. The recommended Gran cru Riezling was awesome...
We took Snails with gorgonzola and pastisbutter as starters and both fish dishes for mains. Both the Qvenels and catch of the day(Seabass as whole) proved delicious, side dishes of local vegetables of season, with pastis butter melting in your mouth giving the final touch. The generous sizes of the main dishes left, unfortunately, the desserts for next time.
All in all, a lovely experience and well worth the wait with the long queues. Luckily we were also told, that the bar seats are "walk-in" only without possibility to reserve, so there´s always a chance to drop by.
Warm compliments to Chef Linnamäki and already waiting for the next visit!
