“The Holiday Inn Helsinki City Centre is perfectly located”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 24, 2012

The best thing about the Holiday Inn Helsinki city Centre is the location. Right by the rail station, the bus station and the subway center. It is in downtown Helsinki and convenient to get anywhere.

The rooms are nice and reasonably priced (for Helsinki). The beds were comfortable and the bathrooms clean and convenient. There was a reasonable amount of closet space and several pillows to select from.

The two things that could be improved:
I did not like was having to pay for internet connection ( 1 Euro for 12 hours) in a country where it is free virtually everywhere.
The staff was helpful but it was understaffed and you often had to wait for assistance, especially if a tour group arrived.

I highly recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: We stayed in a seventh floor room, our son on the 5th floor. Both were fine.

My husband and I stayed here for 8 days, which was a tad too long. The room was fine except that it was stuffy and smelled of body odor and there was no way to air it out or cool it down. The breakfast was fine, but got a little old as it was the same every day. The sauna was nice. The great thing about this hotel is the location, right next to the train station and all major bus stops. (Note: the 615 city bus to/from the airport is 2 Euros less than the FinnAir bus.)

Litterally above the train tracks of the famous central railway station in Helsinki and overlooking the busstation and metrostop. How much connections would you like? And good wifi and cabled internet in the room. The staff was well-trained and thoroughly organised, but offered nothing extra. The room had all basics and some more, such as different choices of pillows. Classy design and a well equiped bath room. Nothing extraordinary but sufficient. You want to go into town anyway. Did not use the breakfast due to early leave. Bar okay and lobby had also cosy and silent parts. Overall a very good hotel and rating, certainly for this brand it reaches towards excellent.

My family and I stayed at the HI City Centre for seven nights and were very pleased with our stay. The staff very very helpful and spoke excellent English. The rooms were large by European standards (average by American standards) and very attractive with wood paneling inthe Scandanavian style. The beds were firm and comfortable. Storage space for clothes was plentiful, although there were more cabinet shelves than drawers. Free wi-fi is available if you join the HI Priority One club (free). The hotel restaruant has an excellent menu that is available in English, The servers also speak English. The location is ideal, right next to the train station. The hotel can be reached from the airport by direct Finnair bus, or by the number 615 local bus at 1/3 of the cost and a ride of only a few minutes more. Several other regional buses run from the train station and the main bus depot is a couple blocks away. Helsinki is a very walkable city and this location puts you in reach of everything, bu the trams also run right in front of the station. Being near the station and the buses does not mean that you have to put up with noise. We were on the third floor in the front of the hotel and had no problems with outsode noise. There are seveal good restaurants right by the station and others nearby. The equipment in the hotel fitness room is somewhat dated but functional.

As the name indicates, this hotel is centrally located and easy to get too. I had a single room which was small, but modern, stylish, efficient and clean. The room had sweeping views over the main train station- Helsinki helsingfor. The staff were young and helpful. From the hotel I could explore Helsinki by foot and conveniently use the bus outside to and from the airport. Holiday inn city centre was the perfect hotel in the heart of helsinki for a few days stop over.

We have 'nt used Holiday Inns before and thought they were a bit basic but we were really delighted with our hotel . Firstly its right by the station( no noise) where the Finnair shuttle stops. Modern , very clean , charming receptionists who speak perfect english , good room ( executive ) ,comfy beds , fab shower and good breakfast. Location is good near the museums , tram and bus stops and a 20 walk to the the sea. Added to that Helsinki itself was delightful . Stylish , clean , great food , helpful people and good sights .Brill .
