“Great location and nice staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 5, 2014

The hotel is in a great location right in the centre of Helsinki and very close to transport links. The staff were very friendly and the price is reasonable, but the hotel itself is only ok. I got one of the renovated rooms and it was pleasant and a good size. There are still renovations going on though, so it was quite noisy.

Overall a good value option.

Hi,

. the moment of writing I'm at the street terrace of the hotel enjoying a nice gin tonic and admiring the sunny surroundings.

The staff has been very friendly, the rooms have everything you need and breakfast is also decent.

I don't know how old the hotel is, but the rooms do look "retro". The WiFi on the other hand is one of the best.

In the end this is a nice hotel for someone on a business trip or city trip, right in the city center of Helsinki.

PS: if you have trouble sleeping in a room where its not completely dark like me, bring sonething to cover your eyes. Finland in the summer gets very light!

Room Tip: If you want tea or coffee facilities on the room (some reviewers talked about the lack of it), you n...

I keep checking in here since it has a great location in Helsinki and is also really cheap. The hotel is really old and the interior has a feeling of "Finland Ferry" (this is a very bad thing), feels like nothing has been changed since mid 80s. There are some renovated rooms located in a very remote part of this huge hotel. Service is OK and it is good value for money since it is very cheap and has an excellent location. But there are many much nicer hotels in the area. Bathrooms are terrible, breakfast area and reception are very un-charming.

Room Tip: Get a newly renovated room in the remote part (5 minute walk from closest elevator :-))

This hotel is in a wonderfully central location, and has a really nice breakfast, although no coffee-making or other facilities in the rooms. It is less than thirty minutes by cab to Helsinki airport, and cabs wait outside. The one big issue I found was a very slow and antiquated reception desk. Long queues built up due to the laborious check-in process. There is a handy supply of sandwiches and drinks just next to that desk- but you need to stay in line with people checking in and out if you buy anything from it.

Room Tip: Don't get a room at the front, especially on Friday and Saturday nights in the summer when drunk...

Stayed here 1 night on business. If I am honest, didnt think much of it at all. First and foremost, the view was of another part of the building. There was no tea/coffee making facilities at all - nothing. There WAS the obligatory, overly expensive mini bar. The room was a typical city centre hotel room, out of date, shabby and not the cleanest. The aire conditiomning was noisy all night, and the bed wasnt the most comfortable. Breakfast was however really good.

I judge a hotel, when on business by the comfort of the bed and the breakast - so this was a bad & a good experience. It was overall an OK hotel, nothing special and I wouldnt stay here again.

Great deal in a perfect location. Not worth spending any more money on a hotel in Helsinki. BUT, the best deal is getting a room with a private sauna - classic Finnish and truly awesome - I never wanted to leave my room!

If you want to stay right at the city, you can't get any closer than this. Hotel is big, clean and comfortable, and afordable. But...it's old. The bed side tables are worn, colors are hidious and bathrooms soviet-like. Still, beds are big and comfy and breakfast is good. I'd go back.
