“This hotel does not deserve BW Plus-level”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 16, 2012

This hotel does not deserve BW Plus-level. Basic room with refrigerated air conditioning. Very small bathroom. Rooms were renovated 5 yrs ago. Breakfast was served in a cosy restaurant Haaga Inn, good breakfast buffet. Big swimming pool. Room price(75 €/night, parking hall 14 €/night. Restaurant closed already at 10.30 p.m. Free WiFi.

This hotel was a great place to stay. It was very comfortable, the price was much lower than in the other Helsinki hotel we stayed at in the city center, the staff was very helpful, and the sauna was the perfect way to relax at the end of a full day of sight-seeing. The breakfast buffet included in the room's price was diverse and excellent. The bed was the most comfortable that my husband and I had slept on in a long time. The air conditioning worked correctly and the shower did not leak (unlike some other hotels we stayed in on our trip).

The staff was great. As another reviewer mentioned, the greeting on the TV was personalized for us. When we fiddled around with it and managed to accidentally change the language to Russian, we called the desk. Within a short time we had a visit from a tech-savvy staff member who fixed it for us. The people at the desk were very helpful and friendly.

The only downside is that it is fairly far from the city center, but it is on a bus route that takes you downtown in fairly short order. The lower room price made it well worth the trip into town.

We would heartily recommend this as a very comfortable hotel and an excellent value.

We arrived in the middle of the night from the airport and found the reception staff friendly and the room compact but spotless and tastefully decorated with some beautiful wooden panels and two lovely pictures. The tv was on and had a personal welcome message on the screen, a nice touch! We had very comfortable twin beds and had a good, quiet night. The room had everything we needed: coffee/tea making facilities, fridge, iron and -board, even a small emergency sewing kit, desk, table, chair and sofa (this, unfortunately, was made into a bed and the bottom end was folded up because it was in the way but two metal pieces stuck out and my husband hurt himself on it as there really wasn't enough space to get by, we would have much preferred to have a sofa to use and couldn't understand why it was made up as a third bed for the two of us??). The bathroom was on the small side, it had underfloor heating and was cosy and warm for our morning showers, bliss! Breakfast was excellent with a good choice. We emailed ahead to ask about transport from the airport and were told to go to the Yellow Line taxi point/desk in Terminal 2 where it would be 29 Euros to get to the hotel, whereas the taxis in the rank outside would be 35-40 Euros, very helpful advice! There are also fairly frequent buses during the day to/from the airport and city. All in all a good, clean hotel and friendly, helpful staff.

Good rooms but no room service, pretty swimingpool and saunas but too expensive if you dont fing an offer from a tour operator.
the location is perfect between Airport an city center. big courtesy of consierge and reception.
If you go in Helsinky try if there is an offer here, dont try to book it directly, it will bee very expensive for this kind of hotel.

This is a great comfortable place to stay, staff is very friendly, food is good, and it is reasonably priced.

The only downside is that parking might be hard to find if you have a car.

The layout of the hotel is well done, and your kids will have fun in the play room just off the lobby area.

For a great value in Helsinki, stay at BEST WESTERN PLUS Hotel Haaga

This particular hotel is pretty good. The room I got (for a bargain price, one single room with quite a big bed was 130 € for two nights) was roomy and tidy, it had big windows and it was very calm as well. The bathroom was quite small, but had enough space.

The location could be a bit closer to the centre, but it's no problem to take a bus or a train, they run pretty frequently.

Breakfast was good and they had lot's of choices to eat and drink. The only thing I didn't like that much was the scrambled eggs, that tasted weird to me.

The receptionists were very helpful and polite. The hotel has a lot trainees, but they already seemed to work very professionally.

I can highly recommend this place to anyone.

We stayed in this hotel for a long weekend-nice big room, reasonable breakfast, very good swimming pool and saunas, clean, pleasant, staff was helpful...the hotel is 15-20 min bus ride to the center of the town, buses are quite frequent. The restaurant is ok for an evening meal, if need be, although with a limited choice of dishes.
