I stumbled upon this restaurant by chance and i'm very pleased I did. While i'm sure most of us have had better Italian food and perhaps fairly often (and no doubt paid a small fortune for the privilege), I think it would be harsh to judge the concept of this place in quite the same way as a fully fledged restaurant, certainly in the area of Vapiano I dined in, which was more set up like a fast food restaurant, than a place to spend a couple of hours. I went into Vapiano for a quick lunchtime meal, without it costing me a fortune and I came out of there happy and content, especially as i'd spent less money than i'd expected to have paid (being a Scandinavian city). For perhaps a little more than I would have paid for a bland McDonalds meal in the city, or a coffee and cake in a run of the mill cafe. I got to watch a pasta chef prepare my meal the way I wanted it, using fresh ingredients and using a little bit of flair and the food was a success. The only thing I could fault the restaurant for really is the dirty glasses that we can use to fill with free water, but as the water is a freebie anyway, then it's little trouble to give the glass a quick clean first while the chef is preparing our meal.
