“Nice location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 5, 2014

Nice hotel next to attractions and shopping. I stayed in room 105 and it was very peaceful even though window was heading to small parking lot. I slept like a baby! Some noise can be heard when neighbours go to room but otherwise very good hotel to relax.

We have been working our way through the Nordic Countries for our summer vacations for the last 4 years and so came the time to visit Finland and its capital Helsinki.

This hotel was chosen on price and location and grading. We flew into Vantaa airport and paid the 6 euro each for the bus to the central train station then walked the last half a mile through the centre and across the esplanade park. The hotel is situated in a courtyard off the quiet Kasarmikatu. The staff all speak excellent English and we were directed to our fifth floor room. The room was not large but adequate and the facilities were of a good standard with a large bed, walk in shower and wardrobe and TV.

The location was great for us as a short walk down the road brought you to the central area park and a quick stroll to the harbour market with its bustling stalls of local food and nick nacks. From there we caught a boat to Tallinn for the day and also a ferry across the bay to the Fortress of Finland Suomelinna with all its museums.

Breakfast was in the price and the food on offer was comprehensive and of a good quality.

Only 2 areas of minor concern, was the aircon which did not seem to want to go lower than its setting of 24 degrees and as we were there in a 30 degree heatwave it would have been nice to cool down and the slightly eccentric cleaning of cups which meant if we brought up cups from down stairs they were not washed or removed, but other than that the rooms were clean and tidy each day.

worth noting as well that opposite the entrance to the hotel is a supermarket for those that want to buy food and goods whilst you are there.

We would happily return again and would recommend this charming hotel.

Room Tip: Like most Scandi countries, the Finns holiday in June and July and return the last few days of July...

We stayed in Hotel Rivoli for two nights, This is very fantastic hotel one of the best I’ve stayed in,
The location of Hotel Rivoli was great about 10 mins walk from the bus and train stations and close to all the great sights
The Breakfast that they serve was very good. They have Small bar area so it feels like it might get quite cosy at peak breakfast times.
Fantastic. Staff are very kind

This will agree with most other reviews, but the hotel is great value for money, in a quiet central location, has a good breakfast, excellent and attentive staff, good room size and it's clean - generally it's hard to conjure up all those benefits for one hotel.

The staff tried their best to please us with early breakfasts, restaurants recommendations and advice and didn't disappoint. Highly recommended!

Finally, love the Karl Fazer chocolates!

Location is quite good, many attractions, shops and restaurants are well within walking distance. It seems, however, a little bit far away from public transport when you are arriving the bus terminal with luggage.

Staff were good and speak English very well, no problems.

Room: My room was probably for the disabled (judging from the bathroom). The room looked like an apartment more than hotel. It was spacious with a couch, decoration looks basic (nothing like those photos on their website) but it was clean, with working wifi and everything I need.

The hotel is not directly adjacent to driving roads so it's very quiet, I could sleep very well.

Bathroom wasn't very good looking but it's basically clean. One strange thing is that the bath was drilled with many holes so it's strictly for shower only but why don't they simply remove it?

Breakfast was good with lots of choices, but the place is small can get very crowded.

Overall it's a good choice for those who just need a basic hotel service. Good value for money (things in Finland are not cheap) in good location.

I have stayed here in June 2014 just for one night during business trip, but this hotel left very good impression. I can say just positive things about it: good location, near centre, but hotel is very quiet, very good quality of sleep. Rooms are quite spacious, nice interior, I really liked big and comfortable bed. In bathroom I found everything I needed. Standard breakfest buffet, everyone can find what likes. And staff was very nice, smiling and helping. I would choose this hotel for next time.

Hotels location is almost perfect, just couple blocks away from middle of the Esplanade park and all the shopping places.Staff was very nice ja room was clean, bed perfect and pillows very good.Brakfast was good, extra plus for fresh fruit(pieces of grapefruit,oranges...)only one minus and thats for the breakfast time in weekdays.Breakfast starts at 7 am,bit too late.(altought, they made me sandwich to go ++)Hotel is't part any hotelchain so that's also a big plus.
