“Stunning”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 8, 2014

This simple protestant cathedral is really worth a visit. The stairs up to the cathedral are a good place for photos or resting.

“The symbol of Helsinki”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 7, 2014

This place nevere ceases to impress me. I visited it 2 times during my last visit to Helsinki with friends from abroad. Both visits were accompanied by organ music as people were practising for some event.

“The symbol of the Spirit of Finland..”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 5, 2014

This Cathedral, built as a part of the Square designed by Carl Ludvig Engel, the German architect,
Is rising up above the town of Helsinkii, as well aware of it's meaning for the Finns.
All the Events of national value, funerals of celebrities of national importance etc are beginning here.
The pure whiteness of it's outer walls rising to the skies is a sight you want to see.
To me, born in Helsinki, the sight of tv-programs from national events here, with camera-view lifting up from the photo of the Church rising up to the blues of the skies is one of those things you cannot forget.

“Very Photogenic.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 4, 2014

We spent the day walking around Helsinki, and have to say that the sight of this cathedral was the highlight. As you enter the square it looks down from it's commanding position in all it's grandeur. It is very photogenic, particularly with the statue in the centre of the square in the foreground. On the inside, however, it is surprisingly plain. Worth a look but there is not much to it.

“Great Photo Opportunity...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 3, 2014

This cathedral is probably one of Helsinki's best churches. Beautiful on the outside and it must look amazing in snow but you don't really need to go inside to appreciate it's splendour. Inside, there isn't really much to and it almost feels smaller than you'd imagined it would be. This church is well worth a stop, especially if you want some really nice photos, but you don't really need to spend long there to enjoy it.
