Good location, a lot of charm, elegant and comfortable bedroom, luxurious marble bathroom, good spa and fitness, many details that add up to five stars. Three things really stand out : breakfast buffet, pillows and comforter, turndown service. Possible improvements: longer opening hours for the fitness room (closes at 8 or 9PM), better service in the bar and the new Japanese restaurant (especially slow), more restrictive smoking policy (in the bar and the Café for lunch and dinner).

We had our wedding celebration at the hotel, and were really happy with all the arrangements and the service level, you don't often see in Europe. The rooms, and public areas are all five star quality.
Location is excellent for tourists, as all the main sites of Helsinki are close by.

Stayed five nights in May. This is definately one of the nicest hotels in Europe! Starwood Luxury Collection hotels all have high standards and Hotel Kamp exceeded my expectations on all levels. The staff was excellent and very informative about helping with restaurant advice and reservations and city sightseeing. The room was large and beautifully furnished, the spa is top notch for excercising and includes dry Finish sauna, wet "grotto" sauna and even a real turkish bath.

The bathroom was very large with gray and white carrera marble and highest quality fixtures. The bed is typical Starwood: wonderful quality mattress and sheets and they give you a choice of pillows. There are two restaurants on the property which are ok, but dozens of great restaurants within a five minute radius. The location of the hotel is superb, right off the Esplanade Park on a pretty pedestrian street. All the major shops are within a five minute walk, as well as the National Gallery, train/metro station and Casino.

Finally, every night we came back to our room and delicious Finnish chocolate was on our nightstands.

We were fortunate enough to celebrate our wedding at hotel Kamp in June 2005. The hotel organized an absolute top-notch elegant 40 person reception in the historic Mirror Room, which raised "oohs" and "wows" from even the most well-traveled and used-to-luxury of our guests. The service for our Finnish-American party was effortlessly bilingual, service detailed to perfection and everything just simply - worked from the upscale gourmet buffet to the matching colors of peonis in the centerpieces.

We had about 10 wedding party members staying with us at Kamp, and I did not hear a single complaint. We also stayed in the hotel for the wedding night, and the room was luxurious, even if it was just a "standard" room. The standards just happen to be world class in this hotel. I recommend Kamp whole heartedly to anyone who visits Helsinki for any reason. Enough reason to visit Finland.
