“Wonderful Boutique hotel!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 11, 2012

I stayed here for 7 nights and found service to be great. English speaking staff helped me plan out transportation for day trips. Staff remembered my request for no feathers in the bedding and had the room ready at check-in. My room was a double for one person so there was lots of space. Room was well lit, very clean and modern. The bathroom was clean, comfortable with a large walk-in shower. Room WIFI, climate control and elevator all worked well.

Breakfast was well managed with great coffee, lots of fruit, cold meats, salmon, breads, yogurt, etc. The space was bright & cheerful without being over done.

Located just a short walk to everywhere. Helsinki is a great city to visit. A food market was located down the block was open long hours.

We had 4 nights in this great hotel in this beautiful city. The hotel is very stylish and in a great location 5 minutes walk from the city centre and two small blocks from the waterfront. The room (no. 300) was quite big with plenty of room for us and our luggage and still room for sitting at the desk or in one of the lounge chairs. The breakfast buffet had a great selection from porridge, cereal, fruit, and breads through to a selection of cheeses, salad, meat and salmon. The staff were very friendly and helpful. As the hotel is the same height as most of the buildings around it you can't get a room with a view so you have to get out and about to enjoy this wonderful city

Room Tip: The hotel doesn't have a restaurant or room service but during the day it is easy to go down to...

We spent four night in Fabian Hotel. This is a small, stylish and comfortable hotel. The rooms are spacious, well decorated (especially if you are colourblind or dislike colours as our was exclusively furnished in black and white) and comfortable. We haven't heard a sound in four nights which, for me, is a big plus in any hotel. The breakfast buffet is amazing and the staff helpful. The location is interesting but as in anywhere in Helsinki distances can be significant. The view from the room was a bit drab.

Excellent hotel and extremely clean, spacious room and very comfortable with a nice shower. Also good value considering Helsinki is quite an expensive place and Hotel Fabian is very central in the city.
Breakfast was great, the food was fresh and a good choice.
Service also cannot be faulted - friendly and efficient.
An excellent choice if you are in Helsinki - well worth the positive reviews on this site. Highly recommended.

This is a newish hotel (~ 2 years) which invested a lot of thought to the traveller's comfort and needs in its construction. Rooms vary in size, we stayed in 307 which was just large enough, and came back after a road trip to 407, which was a fair bit larger. But both rooms had functional layouts, good seating, shelf space, luggage space, bright reading lights, counter space, good soundproofing - all the basic requirements where you wonder why the heck doesn't every hotel understand this? Bathroom was bright and spacious, great shower, lots of counter space. Service was cheerful and efficient. Breakfast was topnotch, both in quality and variety.

The location is terrific, on a surprisingly quiet street for a downtown location.

Traveller's tip: The Kaupahalli (old Market Hall) is less than 5 minutes walk away. For a feast that does not break the bank, go pick up a fabulous assortment of cured/pickled seafoods, salads, cheeses and breads to go, and a bottle of wine from the wine shop next door to the hotel.

We stayed at the Fabian Hotel for two nights in summer 2012.
I found it a really satisfying experience. The rooms are big enough, nicely done, clean and very quiet even if the hotel really is in the city centre. We had a standard room. The bed was good, the bathroom is spacious and beautiful. The hotel staff is extremely helpful and nice, and the small details are thought of, for example umbrellas you can borrow or a cable for your I-pod in case you forgot yours.
The breakfast is good too.
I find the price of 115 Euros per night very reasonable for what you get, and warmly recommend a stz at the Fabian.

Stayed here for six nights mid August. Location was great, just a nice stroll to the main Park and shopping area.Very comfy bed with a really good sized shower.Walk in wardrobe was a bonus, not too large but handled all our luggage adequately. Staff were all very pleasant and willing to help at any time.
The free use of the bicycles was most appreciated. We rode out to the Natiional Park which was so beautiful and peaceful. Breakfast was a real treat. Constantly being topped up, so never had to worry about missing out on anything! Really enjoyed the fresh fruit salad every morning. Would have no hesitation in recommending Hotel Fabian to anyone.
