“Fabulous little boutique hotel in a brilliant location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 1, 2012

The Fabian hotel is perfectly located on a quiet side street just steps from Helsinki’s key attractions..so was perfect for our weekend of exploring. We chose a Comfort Room, which was situated on the top floor under the eaves. It was very comfy, stylishly furnished and fully equipped for our needs. Though I was a little alarmed by some ominous cracks in the wall, which were difficult to ignore, and somewhat odd that this hadn’t been repaired.

The buffet style breakfast was delicious and for me a real standout. Scandi-style fayre with lots of fresh, healthy food options continuously being replenished by staff and the ideal start to the day. Staff were friendly and helpful, and I genuinely can’t find any fault with our overall stay. Would strongly recommend to anyone travelling to Helsinki looking for a ‘boutique’ hotel experience.

The Hotel Fabian was wonderful. Quiet, Casually elegant, great service, spotlessly clean and a good nights sleep. The location is perfect. I stayed with my 15 year old nephew who thought the wifi was perfect. Room was more than big enough to accommodate us both. What more could you ask for. I will definitely stay here and would recommend it except it might be impossible to get a booking because it IS that good.

Room Tip: Stayed in the comfort room with a 15 year old boy and it was more than big enough.

Even, so, the room was comfortable, clean, extra nice bathroom. Personnel was very helpful, breakfast plentiful, free wifi in the rooms. The price was good, and the location was fairly good as well. We met friends in the lobby which is an okay place for a conversation.

Room Tip: There are no nice views at this hotel. The inside rooms look down on a quiet courtyard where breakf...

This is a great hotel, lovely decoration, large rooms, and great healthy breakfast.
The rooms were very clean, the staff was very friendly and helpful. The location of the hotel is good, since Helsinki is a small city and it is easy to walk everywhere from the hotel.
We have been traveling a lot this year in Spain, the UK and Finland and without doubt this hotel has to be the best value for money we have encountered.

Worst value for money: the UK

Stayed for 2 nights at HF and it was an amazing experience. The hotel is at a great location walking distance to pretty much everything one would visit in Helsinki, including Kauppatori, national Museum, churches and Esplanadi where all shopping is located including famous Marimekko store.
I stayed at a comfort room which was modern, large and very comfortable. All amenities present.
Breakfast was tasty and plenty with good variety.
The staff at the front desk was very helpful giving recommendations, booking transportation and even preparing a quick breakfast on my last day when I had to leave early am.

Stayed 2 nights. Large room, nicely furnished, with very nice bathroom.
Staff is extremely friendly and efficient.
Nice breakfast, with good selection of cold food.
The hotel is located somewhat away from the center, but it is easily reached by tram (3T), with a stop 2 blocks away from the hotel.

Tip to cool down your room: If you cannot reach a comfortable room temperature (the air conditioning system needs an upgrade) try this:
Set the temperature target to 19º C (minimum temperature setpoint) then change the system mode from A (auto) to fan speed 3.
