“What a boutique hotel should be”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 26, 2012

We loved our time at the Fabian and would return to it in a heartbeat.

The lobby is a great hangout spot, with comfy couches and drinks available from the front desk. We had drinks with friends in the afternoon, enjoyed the vibe of the hotel and the people watching. The breakfast is wonderful, great coffee, fresh fruit, efficient service. You can choose to sit outside in the courtyard, inside off the lobby, our (our favourite) in the solarium with lots of light. Take a minute to look at how solidly Finns construct their windows and doors - impressive.

Service is warm and efficient, but that was true everywhere we went in Scandinavia.

The location is quiet and is a quick walk to the main square. We only took one taxi the whole time we were there -- very expensive -- and we rolled our bags to and from the train station at the beginning of our trip. (Tougher to the hotel than back as it is slightly uphill).

A well-managed, interesting property, what a boutique hotel should be!

I have not much to add to other reviews. Well appointed rooms, efficient and friendly staff, excellent location, nice breakfast. I could not ask for more.

Very enthusiastic by this boutique hotel. Nicely decorated. Excellent breakfast. Friendly staff. Quiet and large room (mine at least). Everything was wonderful, Stayed 2 nights and would go back in a heart beat !
Centrally located. 2 minutes from the main square, 5 from the train station and 5 from the marina where in Summer you have a wonderful market (artisans and excellent homemade food !!).
Value is priceless for Scandinavia (expensive area).

Reception staff is helpful; knowing answers to every question,
Rooms are cosy, spacious and convenient. Fully furnished kitchen, beautiful terrace with a great breakfast. The best part is that it is located a little bit away from city center, but only about 10 minutes, giving you room to breath and feel at peace while still being able to enjoy the city at its maximum.

I stayed here on business in December 11 and it pains me that the location wasn't good for me because I really want to stay here again. I got by far the best hotel room I've ever had in Scandinavia, it was so nice, I wish my home looked like that! It was done with Finnish design from top to bottom, lovely details, fluffy bed, light and airy room and spotless. Great breakfast, very nice staff and good location on a quiet street (at least it was quiet in the middle of the week).

This hotel is about the best location you can have in Helsinki. A three block walk to the water and outdoor market. The trolley stop is the same distance. The breakfast was amazing -everything you could possibly think of and more. The staff was helpful. We had a great night's sleep which is hard to do when the sunset is 2300 and the sunrise is 4!

Rooms: Clean, modern rooms with vey comfortable beds and pillows. We have a five month old and they supplied a crib and bedding. All set up before we arrived.

Service: Staff are extremely helpful and speak excellent English. They are well dressed and definitely deliver in the service category.

Breakfast: Was included in our room (which is generally common in Finland). Very fresh, healthy buffet style breakfast with lots of options. We stayed here to start our vacation in Finland and decided to spend our last two nights here, partly because of the excellent breakfast.

Thanks to the friendly staff who held my suit while my wife and I "back packed" through the rest of Finland and for running our baby's dirty clothes though their in-house laundry.

I would strongly recommend the Hotel Fabian during your stay in Helsinki.

Room Tip: Ire you're traveling with a baby, ask for room 408. They will probably recommend this anyways.
