“Nice”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 11, 2010

This is a nice hotel. We arrived early on a cold and wet summer morning and our room was ready so after a very long flight,we were able to have a shower and change. The staff were friendly. Our room was huge, TV worked well, bathroom was large. Our only gripe was that the beds were singles. Scandinavians don't know about ventilation, pillows or double beds!!! The internet was free, cable in the room and wireless in the foyer. Breakfast was large and varied to suit all tastes. About 10 min walk to town centre past several good eating places down The Boulevard. We would stay here again.

Unfortunately we stayed here for only one night, would have loved to stay longer. Room interiors are as good as new and are tastefully decorated. Bathroom had a huge shower and both room and bathroom were very clean. Although our room was facing the main street, you will get a good night's sleep as rooms are very well isolated.

We really enjoyed the included breakfast with lots of fresh items. We would definately stay here again, also it's only a 5-10 min. Walk to the central railway station and main shopping area.

Very clean, very modern, and huge! Our bedroom was really big, but the bathroom even bigger with a shower and a beautiful bathtub. Although our windows faced the main street, it was surprisingly quiet at night.

Staff was very helpful and friendly. Free breakfast was delicious and plentiful, although only until 10am.

Stay there!

I can absolutely recommend this place, the hotel itself was built like 2 years ago so everything is modern and in good condition. The room was spacious and clean, there was free internet, the breakfast buffet was huge! There is also a sauna in the Hotel, don't miss the famous finnish sauna once you are there! The only downside is that you can not open the windows in the airconditioned rooms, not that great in summer. The city center is about 10 mintues walking distance, good quiet location, not too noisy. The front desk guy was very helpful. You should definitely visit Suomenlinna Fortress on a closeby island, there is a ferry every 20 mins from Helsinki market square.

We had a pleasant stay in the hotel which is in a beautiful green and quiet area, just a walking distance from the busy loud city centre.

Stuff very helpful and professional. When we got hungry in the night the reception guy recomended us a tiny place with the most delicious kebeb we have ever eaten.

The hotel has a very cosy moderate-priced restaurant on the ground floor of the hotel, food is just great. Fransmanni bar in the lounge, good for a romantic stay-up or for a morning coffee with a business partner. We ordered a discounted bottle of champagne for take-away,unexpectedly it was served in a really elegant ice bucket which added up to our romantic mood.

The hotel has 2 parkings,we were offered one in another hotel just a minute's drive away for something like 18eur/day.Good deal.

The only few drawback were a previous guest's underwear behind the curtain which was made up in the morning by a receptionist by a coupon for considerable discount on our next stay. Also the room and the hotel corridors look a bit dull, but I guess it is a just a classical Finnish hotel look.Taking a shower be careful, the water leaks out.

Hotel was nice and comfortable. Rooms were modern and clean. The surrounding of the hotel is perfect. It's very quite area and more I visit in Helsinki more i like this area with beautiful buildings and small shops and bars. I have stayed many times in the hotels in the main streets (f.ex. in Mannerheimintie). Nowadays I prefer this area much more better. The restaurant services could be better - I had a dinner in the evening. The size of the portion comparing to the price was incredible small and food... it was not very tasty. The breakfast buffet itself was ok, but if there's warm food available, they should stay warm. Now all the warm food was quite cold.

Anyway, comparing to the price I payed, my stay was ok.

The hotel was ultra modern and very comfortable for our 2 night stay. Access to Wifi in the room was very good and free of charge. Nice restaurant with a buffet breakfast and we also ate dinner on one night. We walked miles around the coast, harbour and into the city easily from this hotel. A wonderful efficient transport system thoughout Finland. We flew from Stanstead to Tampere and took the 2 hour train trip to Helsinki. The rail system is fast, very convenient and reasonably priced. We didn't know much about Helsinki or Finland before this trip and we're so glad to have experienced the country and its very friendly people. We'll definitely go back again during the summer months as we understand that the winter is very cold and harsh. A great place to eat is down at the market on the harbour where stalls cook fresh fish, whitebait, salmon etc landed hours earlier.
