“Amazing!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 9, 2013

Fazer is the most famous brand of chocolate in Finland with some really unusual flavour combinations, and all of them are great! The Karl Fazer cafe is beautifully decorated, light and airy with a huge domed ceiling in the centre. One side of the cafe looks like a fancy sweet shop selling the confectionary (you can buy it here in really nice presentation boxes, but honestly you can usually buy it all cheaper down the road in Stockmann, or at the airport before you leave). The other side is a busy cafe - and it does get very busy around lunch time. It's sparkly clean and although it's probably overpriced it's worth it. The cakes are a work of art, i's hard to choose what to have because they all look so pretty! They are incredibly delicious too and actually most of them are pretty large. If you order a hot drink you get a little individually wrapped Fazer chocolate with it too - a small, but nice, touch.

“Great food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 8, 2013

I was in the Tourist Information office and asked the young man where he went for coffee, his answer Fazer's , we went and we were the only tourists in there it was very busy though.

It's self service and large but that does not detract at all from the great coffee and cakes [all local delicacies] they even served Scandinavian open sandwiches which looked fantastic.

They also have a shop selling Finnish chocolate another local told us that it was the "best" so bought some to bring home as gifts.

The cafe is situated in a side street on the way to the harbour.

As in all Scandinavian countries very clean and straight lines. Staff spoke excellent English.

Would definitely visit again if/when I have the opportunity.

“More cafes like this, please”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 1, 2013

A large, airy space filled with the most splendid array of cakes, sweets, chocolate and other bakery items like rolls, croissants, pastries. I didn't know what to choose! Fresh coffee with refills :) We were in a bit of a rush so couldn't linger, maybe it was just as well. The staff were pleasant and smiling and spoke English. Wish we'd had time to go back before leaving.
