We visited Kyla on Mother´s Day, which is one of the most popular days for restaurant lunches. On that day the restaurant was fully booked (twice) and also they had a special menu. The menu contained some dishes which belong to their "normal" menu, but also some, which were produced for the day, probably to stay within capacity of the kitchen and to avoid very long preparation times.
As a starter we favored asparagus with hollandaise-sauce. It was quite good, but perhaps something extra could have been added...
As main dishes we had roasted whitefish and beef with garlic. Both dishes included root vegetable rosti and different potatoes. The whitefish also had a very tasty nettle hash. The courses were tasty and the beef was exactly medium, as was asked.
As a dessert we had blueberry Creme brulee. To-day you find that creme brulee in many variations, but blueberry version was something new (at least for us). The brulee was tasty.
The wine list was large enough at least for us. The waitress was not very well aware about the wines to recommend matching ones, but together we did come to satisfying wines.
As I mentioned, the place was full but the service ran without delays. As a whole, the restaurant gave a very good impression of their willingness and efforts to serve (much) above average food for acceptable prices, on this busy day.
