I did not stay at this property but went on an overnight husky safari with Guesthouse Husky. I stayed in Inari so took an early bus to Ivalo where I was collected and taken out to the husky farm. They have about 150 huskies on their farm. I was fitted out with warm overgear boots and sheepskin mittens to put over my ski gloves. I had to supply ski pants and jacket. I and 6 others were given 5 minutes of instruction ( little brake, big brake!) then off we went, me a 10-12 foot sled on skis and 5 huskies ! It was a little scary at first as the dogs only had one speed and that was flat out! I fell off twice the first day but managed to stay on the second day. We travelled about 50 k's a day through forest ( nearly collided with saplings a few times) and over frozen lake Inari . Scenery was fantastic, seeing the sun peaking through the horizon whilst sledding over the lake was breathtaking ,the trip was great a real adventure. We stayed at a log cabin in sleeping bags, outside toilet and sauna. After dinner and collecting water from the frozen lake ( yes our guide had to drill a hole in the ice then we had to bucket water to the cabin) I would have loved a wine! Tip ...take your own wine in a non breakable container , a bottle would not survive the trip.
