We booked a 10km Husky Safari with Wingrens via the Tourist Information Centre in Levi at very short notice - basically about 25 minutes! The owner came and picked us (2 adults and 4 children) up in a minibus, and booked a taxi to pick up another family (2 adults and 2 children).
On arrival at Wingrens we were given a tutorial and allocated a sledge. My wife and I had a sledge each, with 2 children in each sledge, and 6 dogs to a sled. We then set off across a wonderful scenic track spanning 10km of frozen lakes and alpine woodland. We were basically left to it, with no guide other than a chap riding a snowmobile some distance off to keep an eye on us - we didn't really notice him at all.
On arrival back at the dog farm we were given sausages to cook on an open fire in a cosy little hut.
The Inghams Husky Safaris mentioned elsewhere are run by Wingrens - I would suggest booking direct to as you get the track to yourself rather than travelling in a convoy, and the whole experience is a lot more personal.
Wonderful experience, highly recommended. Wingrens are very friendly and flexible.
