We arrived last weekend and our room wasn't ready so we left our bag and spent the day with family. The checkin staff assured us our room would be ready when we got back later that night. Upon returning, we were advised that the hotel was overbooked, and were given our key. For a conference room. With a board table, chairs and whiteboard, and a fold out bed that was so uncomfortable it wasn't funny.

Went back to reception and they managed to move my husband and I to a twin room which was on the same floor as a large group of teenagers (or so it sounded with them running up and down the halls screaming half the night). They kindly left a bag of McDonalds by the lifts.

When we went down to breakfast at 10am it was heaving. Most foods had run out and we were told they were out. On checking with reception we were told that we were being upgraded but not until late that day so we went back to our room to pack as we had plans with friends.

Headed out for the day, and the Maccas was still by the lift at Noon. Ummm, housekeeping?

Moved to a junior suite at 10pm when we got back. Great view, comfortable bed.

I can't fault the staff at the hotel. But in general the hotel is very dated and needs a total refurb.

Radisson Blu Scandinavia Hotel needs upgrading!

I had a four night stay at this hotel, and I had booked a double room with two queen beds –
I got a room facing the atrium, hence, no fresh air. Instead of two queen beds, there was one queen and the sofa was made into the second bed, after calling the reception, I got another room – much better, windows facing the street. Decoration was a 80's nightmare, but room was spacious, and had all facilities needed.

Breakfast was good – Upon checking in, I asked if walk-in breakfast guest was accepted, as I had friends in town, I was eager to catch up with. They told me that would be no problem. When my friends called to check the price the very next morning, they were told they were not welcome...

Also, they layout of this hotel does not make sense, if you stay on first floor, room facing the back of the hotel, you need to walk the corridors around the whole block before you get to your room. There is a short cut, if you are lucky, the area is free, and there are some stairs you can walk up, then cross a conference room then get there quicker, with a shorter walk. And, the reception offer you no help with the suitcase.

It is a OK hotel, overpriced for what it is – I would choose differently next time...

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing the street if you like fresh air.

Hello

I am so sorry to hear about the problems you have encountered during your stay here.

Of course we want you as a guest to be able to have breakfast with a friend. It might be a misunderstanding when she called in on her own that they did not understand she had a friend in the hotel. When crowded over the weekends they do not always accept outside breakfast guests.

Am of course very sad to hear that you was not offered help with your luggage. Our guest service desk should most certainly help with that.

Again - very sorry about a stay not up to expectations. I do hope we get the chance of proofing what we really can at another opportunity.

Kind regards

Pretty comfortable hotel with crowded breakfast. Breakfast can be better but is still good. Location is just next to central train station and close to city centre with lots cafes, restaurants and shops. Free wifi at the room is perfect. We connected several devices and all worked with good speed.
I dont have anything negative to add. We had the kettle, tea and even iron in the room, all we needed.

Hello

Very pleased to hear that you had a good stay with us and liked the hotel as well as the location (though not much we can do about the last one). Extra nice to hear that wifi worked really well since we did an upgrade of the system earlier this year. So important that works well these days.

We are much looking forward to seeing you here in Gothenburg and at Radisson Blu again soon.

Kind regards

Last week we were in Gothenburg and decided to stay a night at a hotel. After some research we choose Radison Blu Scandinavia Hotel. The location is perfect, right in the city by the central station and walking distance to most attractions and restaurants!
I have stayed there before under previous ownership. It is a little old and would probably need a bit of a revamp but it is spacious and clean and the staff is super friendly. We arrived and got our room straight away, no waiting around. The room was spacious and the beds were so comfortable I did, for a minute consider changing the plans for the evening and stay in! In the end I didn't but I do recommend a night here if you are around! The bar staff were so nice and made us feel very welcome with a personal touch, guiding us through the different beers and we ended up having a bit of a mini tasting, in the end deciding on a Swedish ale as our favorite.
The only thing I would say is that the hairdryer in the room left a lot to wish for, I could do about 1/4 of my hair before it overheated. When I checked out they did tell me that they have spare ones if you need it, I should have asked!
In all this was just a minor detail and I would be happy to stay here again!

We spent a night at the Radisson
Blu (next to the railway station) in Gothenburg, Sweden, and experienced a level of service we seldom have come across. Everybody in the staff, from the reseption/check in/out, and the valet parking -to roomservice was not only impeccable, but was executed with a warmth and understanding toward all our needs that I rarely find in hotels nowadays. The handicap room was very spacious and delicate.
I think the breakfast could satisfy most palates, and even if we came in the middle of the
big rush, the expediancy of the
staff made the whole thing smooth and with no queues.
One thing could have been improved. We ordered roomservice, it took 45 minutes, which is way too long, and my hamburger was not juicy and medium, but resembled
eraser gum.
