“Not just for Volvo fans”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 5, 2013

You can find all models there although you are not allowed to touch them. It can be reached by public transportation and provides 1,5 hour fun for vehicle fans.

“NEW CAR EXPERIENCE”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 30, 2013

My wife and I had the opportunity to visit the Volvo manufacturing plant as well as the museum when we picked up our new car at factory last year . The tour of the plant was amazing. The museum was equally educational. We would highly recommend a visit to both places while visiting Sweden. I can't say enough about our new car, it's absolutely the best. I'm sure we will return in a couple of years to replace our 2007 Volvo.

“Historical review of Volvo”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 19, 2013

The Volvo museum was literally next to the ship on our Baltic cruise. As we had some spare time after returning from a shore excursion we decided to take a look. The museum recounts the history of Volvo and showcases various autos and trucks they have built. In addition they have examples of aircraft they have built, a complete line of commercial trucks from the smallest to the large freight carriers and quite an assembly of construction vehicles. The museum is set up so that you follow a path assuring you get to see everything.Depending on how long you want to ogle the displays the time to see everything should be less than an hour. They have a gift shop and snack bar if you are hungry or thirsty or are in need of almost anything Volvo. Entry fee was about $10 USD. Enjoyable adventure.

“Average for a museum - but if convenient, worth a visit”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 13, 2013

I like cars; I like Volvo. My ship recently docked about 100m away from the entrance to this unassuming little museum, so we thought that we would take a spin around and learn about this Swedish icon.

Due to its remote location - if you aren't mad about Volvo OR going to there anyway, this is probably not worth the effort.

The museum is a bit odd if you expect to get straight into viewing boxey little wagons... instead, you start off with jet engines and a huge area devoted to their sailboating ventures.... the interesting Volvo car bits (prototypes, concept cars, trucks) don't start until you access the upstairs. Even so , the car experience is not very interactive. There are a few trucks you can get into the cab, but walking around feels like there must be a layer of dust on everything - like it is an attic of Volvo more than its showcase. I don't think that there was a cafe etc either, although they had a decent gift shop with a few O and HO scale truck models if you are into that sort of thing.
