“Close to city centre and railway station”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 6, 2013

Nice and clean hotel in the centre of Gothenburg. Close to railway station, the Opera house, restaurants and shopping. Bus and trams nearby. Large breakfast buffet and good restaurant. Parking indoor if needed.

We spent 2 nights in Goteborg and this was by far the most expensive hotel of our Scandinavian trip. It seems like hotels in Goteborg are quite expensive, nevertheless for the price we paid we expected more than a basic room with a very basic bathroom. We did enjoy the breakfast, which is served in the fancy hotel courtyard: the juice was so so, but the rest was good. Staff is very friendly and the location is ideal, close to the railway station and the city park.

Standard business traveller hotel at good location and ok for business travellers. There are better hotels in the city.

Location 7/10:
Located just 5 min walk from the big central train station, it is fast and easy to get there. Approximately 30-45 min with taxi from airport. Around a 10 min walk to the central parts of the city, shopping streets and restaurants. If visiting for a sports event, the two stadiums are just around the corner. A quiet area of the city, so no problem with sleep.

Lobby/Check-in 5/10:
Big lobby with a lot of open spaces and seating, but you feel like you are sitting in the restaurant when you are waiting. The front desk is big and there were many to help with check in, so that was good. Went fast and they were very friendly and helpful.

Room 4/10:
Got one of the newer rooms, but still very standard and basic furniture’s. Bed is ok, and there is a small seater as well. View was towards a business complex across, so they could see straight in, and you could not draw the curtains, but only the night one, which made it pitch black, and that is not so nice in the day time. Wireless was slow, but free. No water boiler, so not coffee or tea in the room. No mini bar, but a small safe.

Restaurants 5/10:
The breakfast buffet is good, with a good of choices of hot and colds. Just standard and nothing special, but fills its purpose.

Other:
Cannot comment on the conference part. There is a small fitness center, but opens a bit later in the morning, so no time to work out before going to meetings, for a business traveller.

It was a four days business trip and last minute booking. I got a dark room with old furniture close to a noisy elevator and windows facing to an indoor hotel bar. On one of the evenings the hotel bar was transmitting a football match with all loud cheering by hotel guests until 12AM

Despite my complaint about the noise to the reception, nothing was done about that.

Price was too high in comparison to provided room and service

Rooms are clean, location is central, staff is friendly, breakfast is ok. Nothing fancy, but not bad. I'd give 3,5 if I could :)

+ location
+ clean

- elevators slow and out of order
- dry rolls at breakfast
- noise from street
- asked for extra towels, had to walk to reception and pick up myself
- uninspired and slow staff in the bar

Room Tip: Some rooms only have a view to the atrium. Some rooms are refurbished, others are not.

The location of this hotel is really good, it's very close to the station and the centre. The staff is very helpful.. The public areas such as the restaurant look good and seem clean.

Our room was big, nicely decorated and clean. There was a large flatscreen TV, a bathtub and free WiFi. On another floor the guests can enjoy jacuzzi, sauna and gym.

The breakfast buffe is awesome (they even have pancakes!) but very crowded.
