We stayed here at the beginning of June for 5 nights as part of a two week holiday. We originally wanted to stay in a sea view hit but this was fully booked so we stayed in a "Thai house". I'm glad we did though as they seemed a lot bigger than the other huts.
We arranged a speedboat transfer with the resort who were always prompt at responding to my emails. The boat went from
Koh samui and took about 35mins to get to the resort. It was amazing pulling up to the resorts beach and walking through the water to the reception. Although it was very pricey! It was definitely worth it for us for the speed.
The resort is situated at one end of a long beach which is perfect for swimming and walks. There's lots of different bars/restaurants etc along the beach so plenty of choice although we loved the BBQ the resort put on every night - it was so cheap and the food was amazing. Beef, fresh bbq'd fish so we didn't go anywhere else for food!
There are plenty of trips u can organise through the resort at good prices. We went elephant trekking one day - half an hr was enough and it was fun although I can't help feeling sorry for the elephants so we made sure we bought lots of bunches of bananas when we were there to give them extra treats!
The staff are what makes this resort they are so friendly and accommodating I actually almost missed them when we went to our next bigger resort as it was so much more impersonal! They couldn't do enough to help us and it was nice when we saw ting on the next beach on his day off and he recognised us straight away :)
Overal I can't say enough good things about this place! For what you are paying you couldn't ask for anything more!

only one thing,we booked there for 4 nights and we only stayed one.we had the number 2 hut and it was the worst bungalow and the dirtiest in our stay in thailand.dont go there.we finaly stayed in a better bungalow at the othe side of the beach with the same price with breakfast,and with better and cleaner beach.

After a few days on the west side of Koh Phangan I went on a day trip to Thong Nai Pan and fell in love with Yai beach and decided to move there for the rest of my stay on the island. I was expecting to pay a lot more for accommodation on that side of Koh Phangan but a friend recommended Baan Panburi village. Wow! Beautiful garden, clean bungalows and the best service I had on this island. All that for a very reasonable price. Great place to stay!

Yes, this is one of the best values on the beach. Yes it is right on the beach -- we had one of the closest bungalows to the beach. And it was nice to sit on the porch watching the shore and the kids. But, if you are traveling with a family, you may want to look elsewhere. The bungalows are very small, mosquitoes abound away from the beach, and the bungalows near the beach are quite noisy at night because the restaurant is right there. The restaurant itself is barely adequate. Service is nothing special, and dogs roam the premises and have a habit of making a deposit in from of your cabin (this happened to us twice in 7 days). We found the mattresses dirty and the smell a little dank. Other cabins had worse smell problems. The bathroom is open to the air for some reason, meaning that you shower while dodging mosquitoes. While our hot water did work, other people staying there told us they had no hot water.


Bottomline: My advice is that if you do not care about quality, cleanliness, and comfort, but you do want to save a lot of money, then this is the place for you. Otherwise, pay a little more for something nicer.
