“Perfect Paradise”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 15, 2013

We spent 4 days here and at the most saw 10 people all day across the whole stretch of beach. It was absolute paradise. Pure white sands, blue seas and so quiet. As it was early September the weather was a little overcast at some points but mainly blue skies and still really hot, but it meant quieter beaches, and a small breeze so we liked it.

The beach huts are really cool, there's a verander with a hammock on the front, but inside is basic with a clean bathroom, a/c and a double bed.

The restaurant was amazing. It was perfect, fresh fruit breakfasts and a good mix of Thai and Western dishes. Everything was extremely fresh and delicious and it sits right on the beach. We couldn't believe how beautiful it was.

As everything is in Thailand, the cost of the food and the hut was so reasonable. We would definitely recommend staying here. We're not keen on busy touristy beaches so it was perfect for us.

It's very basic, but has all you need and the price is very low. The location is great, quiet and right on the beach. But the best part is probably the food- best Thai food we had in Thailand. Try the Masaman- it's delicious!

Stayed at Longtail Beach Resort end August for 5 days. We found the basic bungalows a bit small, and were upgraded to a much larger 3 bed bungalow (1 double and 1 single bed) for en extra 300 Baht. Well worth it! The resort is in a quiet location at the South end of Thong Nai Pan Yai. Staff is very friendly and helpful. The restaurant is probably the best on this beach. Really laid back !! A couple of shops close by, including a 7/11. The best swimming section of the beach is a 2min stroll away. Highly recommended and we will be back on our next trip.

From my quick visit this place seems to be best if you want to do very little. It is on the far side of the beach, has an excellent restaurant/bar, and a nice atmosphere. The rooms are a little dark for my liking, and the hammock in our room had been put up incorrectly so that it was not very usable (hung too high and short). But this is a good option for chilling.

The resort is on a quiet beach on the north eastern side of the island. It takes about 45 mins to get there from the pier and should cost 200 baht.

We had a basic fan double room. The room was comfortable. It had hot water, all windows had a grill and the bed had a mosquito net. There was also seating and a hammock outside the room. None of the rooms are far from the beach- we were in hut 10 a maximum 1 min walk from the beach.

We usually had breakfast at the resort, which was healthy and tasty but chose to eat at the other numerous restaurants along the beach.

This resort is ideal for families or people looking for a quiet getaway. We went during the low seasontherefore the beach was particularly quiet but the resort itself had a lively atmosphere most evenings.

As others have said, make sure that you bring insect repellant as he huts and enclosed within a jungle.

Brilliant! Fantastic bungalows, very clean, white sheets, near to the beach. Good food and friendly,- if sometimes awkward and non-English speaking, service.
Overall a fab place to stay on Koy Phangan

The beach is quite nice. Several fishing boats anchored just off the resort's beach, but if you walk a few minutes up the beach, there are some nice areas to sit in the gentle waves.

In August, the heat was brutal, 93F, felt like 110F. And don't forget the bug spray. I did, and the mosquitoes were unbearable. The bungalows are very basic. What you get for about $20/night is a hard bed, a fan (for $10 more, they'll turn on the AC), and hot water in the shower. You don't get soap, and if you want more than one roll of toilet paper, you'll have to buy it at the reception desk. I think there was maid service, but only every third day. And there's a nice hammock on the patio.

The common area/restaurant was quite okay if the mosquitoes left you alone. I loved the mango juice, and the yogurt with fresh fruit. I'd eat yogurt every day if I could get it the way I did in Koh Phangan. There are plenty of places to dine up the beach, but they are all pretty much the same, with slight variations on the menu.

When you want to go back to the ferry, or some other part of the island, you have to pay 200 Baht per person for the shared taxi to Thong Sala. Technically that's a rip-off, but the price is still quite affordable and noone's going to argue.

Room Tip: I don't think it really mattered to have the bungalow right at the beach. You were then next to...
